Corsa vxr misfire on boost problem solving

New sub mate, I found your channel while checking out VXR reviews before I went ahead and bought one. Just bought a 2014 VXR Nurburgring with 77K on the clock. At 50yo I'm probably going to get some stick for driving one at my age but I don't care I just love it.

I’m surprised this is you’re second boost issue, I’ve never had any boost issue on my corsa vxr-r. Good to see the issue fixed and shown what it could be for others who have the issue

@@Yodaracing1 Genuinely it’s nothing then, next time check spark plugs and then coil pack both common issues. My friend black edition misfire and it was the coil pack which failed it’s common so no need to worry. No problem mate

Changed coilpack and new sparks ... But cars still juddering like hell and EML still on.... Taking to garage tomro to see if removing the light will help. Duni what else to look at. I know sensors could be a pain

Would you recommend doing plugs too mate if they haven't been changed for ages ? My pack and plugs haven't been changed in over 3 years

Hi , im having a flat spot in power in the mid range, and then picks up again, it's easy to see it on the dyno graph and it's only pushing 106kw.

@@Yodaracing1 He didnt have a clue what it was then i did a boost test and then i found a leak by the bottom o ring on the injector and i replaced that with the correct new pair of o rings but still pulls the same but im wondering if it maybe is the map sensor?

Mine started misbehaving always while revs hitting 4000 mostly noticed it in 3rd too would start coughing and some pops engine light starts flashing then goes off then the spanner light comes on engine is coughing and spluttering the whole time soon as I turn the ignition off and on again theirs no lights and drives perfect again only happens when foot is down and boosting hard going to buy a coil pack really hope it's that will update at the weekend

Changed the plugs and coil pack and boosting perfect again now such a relief and a cheap fix keep up the good content.

Hi bud was the car misfiring when you put your foot down? It’s happening on my Astra vxr would you say coil pack?

Yea drove fine till I put my foot down and it came on boost it would splutter I would say coil pack could be a possibility

Or maf sensor, I had same on my astra anything over 5000rpm it would misfire horrendously making loud bangs, you can unplug maf and if it runs better its time for a new maf sensor

Think mine has this issue.. basically in third gear when it goes over 3k rpm it feels like the turbo is skipping if you get what I mean. Is that about right lol

My vxr is a tad jerky 1st/2nd gear 2k revs but also over revs itself when changing gears at speed, I’ve changed the coil pack and sparks 3/4K miles ago so could it be the Maf. ?

Hmmm I would get it plugged into a proper tech2 code reader or opcom the second lambda being fault could cause issues

Had a misfire on mine a little while ago changed everything, still had a misfire. Turned out to be the water temp sensor. Still can't figure why it would cause a misfire. Expensive month lol 😆

Haha yea I’ve heard about that one a few times I think it’s because of the car thinking it’s not up to temp so dumps more fuel in causing it to misbehave lol least you’re got to the bottom of it haha 👍🏻

Was it like misfiring from 2.5k to about 3.5-4K well feels like a misfire then shoots off without a problem?

Because it's your daily and its tuned it needs constant TLC , maybe think about making it toy keep the miles down on it mate? nice easy fix tho and good call on the issue 👍
