I am enthralled by that boats folding design. I need a boat that trailers, and am even considering building my own, and suddenly my designs just got a lot more complicated. That you can not only fold it, but slip it folded like that is fantastic.

Yes it is < 3000lbs including the trailer so you can pull it with a normal car. Also look at the Dragonfly boats which fold in the other direction but they are a bit more $$ usually.

Looks like a 760 or 750k2 with the fixed pole. On my 242 i loved the furling option for either jib or screacher - lots of flexibility - you MAY want to weave a really small LFR and put a multi purchase block and hook to get halyard tension on the screacher. You CAN tack that screecher with a continuous line (strongly suggest you put a bungy and block on it to keep the slack tight and you don't jump the continuous line roller). Finally a rope that runs from the front beam eye to the back beam eye so you can grab it anywhere along the line and pull the bow or stern in more easily is really handy if you are going solo. Nice work in a sticky situation - Well done!

Ha yeah I mean… I CAN tack the screecher, but it’s a lot more work than gybing it. I’m trying to make things look easy here 😜 thanks you are right about all this. Rigging improvements coming soon!

Beautiful sailing right there!! You had the Corsair ripping at 15+ kts. Is that Santa Monica Bay out of MDR? That’s where I sail out of and it looks familiar. P.s. have you checked the inline fuel filter for your outboard? It could be gunked up and choking the engine at full throttle.

Thanks! That is Long Beach inside the breakwater. Coming out of Alamitos Bay. Yeah maybe you’re right about the filter. I will check it out. We ran it at full throttle in a tank for awhile and couldn’t get it to fail but we had fuel connected directly to the carb intake so it had to be something between there and the fuel hose connector… 😩

Just two GoPros. All the data is coming from their internal GPS. On this video I used a software called goprotelemetryextractor to do the graphics.

@@damon_c So you are often doing 100% of the wind speed? Do you have a rough idea of: Close-hauled, percentage of wind speed? Beam reach, percentage of wind speed? Broad reach, percentage of wind speed? Down wind, percentage of wind speed?

Yes... What you're talking about is usually described in a "polar diagram" I don't have any math or science about this but off the top of my head: Close-hauled, percentage of wind speed: 60% Beam reach, percentage of wind speed: 100-120+% Broad reach, percentage of wind speed: 100-120+% Down wind, percentage of wind speed: 80-100% The hard part is actually knowing what the wind speed is and where it's coming from because of all this. When the wind is 10 and coming from 12 o'clock and you're going 10 at and pointing 3 o'clock, it feels like the wind is 15 and now it's coming from... one thirty... I have not found instruments that are very accurate in telling me this in real time. Still working on that.
