I agree. I have owned the Razers for a couple months now and I was extremely torn between these two headsets. The mic is just so good on the corsairs and now that the HS80s are out I might return my razer. The mic arm seems a bit troublesome and doesn’t seem to bend well. But since I stream, the mic quality is important. I don’t want to get a separate mic and stand just to sound as good as the Corsair hs80 anyways.

The Corsair HS80 also turns into a USB headset if you plug it into your pc with the usbc cable. Not a lot of wireless headsets can do that

@@eliseo5416 I'm certainly no audio expert so the only thing I can say is that it works for me and I like it. I use it for calls during work, gaming and podcasts and it works really well. The only thing I dislike is that upper band does not expand, so if you have a big head like I do, it might not have the best fit. I bought it almost a year ago and I think it was the best choice for my budget.

Well, the mic difference is obvious, BUT the HS80 mic is very sensitive and if you are not always alone in the quiet room then it will pick up all the noise and people talking around you.

Bloody hell, I didn't realize you'd switched to recording off the hs80 mic at first. Too bad it has that rubber headband though. In my experience, no matter with which product, that rubber is going to become sticky in a couple of years

The corsair definitely has more of an open natural human sound to it, sounds top notch and you probably wouldn't ever have the need to buy a separate mic for streaming etc, the one thing I noticed is that the S sounds have a strange sizzle to them but its very minor and doesn't happen consistently, The razer mic however also sounds very good too just has a lot more bass and more of a compressed sound to it but by tweaking the mic eq in the software you can get it to sound much better.

love the review I have the halo handset from razar and i must say i was not impressed by their sound they seem tiny at best and they also hurt my hear a bit. I am hoping the 40 mm drivers the Razer Barracuda X ones will not sound tiny as the 50mm ones were terrible? will have to will.

at 17:40 when hes talking about corsair not having a 3.5mm jack my backup headset doesnt either and i just use a usb c to 3.5 and it works fine and the audio sounds fine so i feel like the corsair would have an equal level of compatability

One feature that I feel should be mentioned is the sidetone on the black shark V2 pro and the fact that it is non existent. You have to turn the volume knob to max and increase the sidetone to max in synapse just to get to be able to BARELY hear any side tone in the mic. After watching this video, I finally understood why people kept telling me I sounded like an airline pilot speaking through a cabin speaker lmao. The audio quality and comfort level is still amazing in the razer headset tho, sadly im returning this thing tomorrow and looking at other headsets and the Hs80 is on my list.

I bought my HS80 yesterday and man is it loud for the price. Though for long gaming sesh it does hurt my ears. Compared to my former Astro A50 4th Gen base wise it is far superior than the HS80 however Astro lacks full customization with a very outdated app to configure and update your “Base Station” that is needed in order to make the headphones function at all. The HS80 is definitely far better as it is updated more frequently and is of course a newer headset. I’m in love with it after having it for just a few days but wish my Dolby Atoms app would work so I could use the headset to its full potential

Which one would you recommend? ASTRO a50 or hs80? I have an astro a50, but it just not connect any more, even if I reset the headset and base station, it has a required update for headset that always get an error and do not complete. So I'm searching about a new one. I thought about logitech g pro x wireless, because I have logitech keyboard, mouse and webcan and they do a great job. But this hs80 looks a great option too for gaming

So I’ve just heard you say that Corsair says the XT model sports the same mic as the HS80? this is really interesting to me because I am currently torn between either the XT or the HS80 but I think from my research the HS80’s mic even sounds more superior than that of the XT. Which is a tragic shame because the XT has all the features I really want but the HS80 has no features. I would really love to know if it actually is the exact same mic because then it’s a no brainer to purchase the XT’s and just buy some additional ear cups to increase comfort

HS80 is cheaper as well. I just sent back my Blackshark V2 Pros because I didn’t like the wireless range since mine would cut out a lot and I hated hated hated not knowing if I was muted or not. The little mute button is annoying with no audio chime given and not enough tactical feel to know if you are muted or not. Everything else is really great though as they are comfortable, sound good, and the mic was good enough. On day one of my HS80 though so can’t say too much for now other than I felt like they weren’t as comfortable but maybe I need to get the ski band to fit better. Sound is definitely better though, and mic is truly amazing for a wireless headset at this price range.

@@rizzzzzzzzzzzz hello! So I ended up returning them but not for either of the issues you mentioned. I actually thought they were too heavy and the earcups would retain too much heat and made them to be uncomfortable for long usages. I did not have sound issues nor mic issues. It was easily the best mic I ever used that was wireless. The bass was great too. Dolby atmos worked really well on the PC with them. Battery life was fine, I recharged them every night so not a worry there. Shame I couldn’t keep them.

I bought the Razer not disappointed. - + I like a detachable mic- - +++++ the volume control position all other headphones I have had have the same as the Corsair which (It might just be me) but if I turn my head the vol control catches on my shoulder & I have gone silent with the Razer that NEVER happens

I now bought HS80, advanced from 1st gen VOID Pro USB, and i am very disapointed, the USB void had 7.1 dolby surround sound which was great (newer version of VOID series doesnt have that) and why am i disapointed with HS80? bass... low bass is weak and almost non present unless you are blasting headset to 100% volume .... and Atmost doesnt help with it at all, even if you boost bass in EQ you wont change much and for listening music its shame.... now i have to listen "bass boosted" music, before i didnt bcz VOID usb had nice bass which i expected from 50mm speakers too bud it was mistake ... for 170 EUR to get this .... shame

HS80 is advertised as a gaming headset, as a general rule for gaming headsets heavy bass is bad. You want a neutral mix. If you want something more suited for music as well you're better off Epos H6 but will pay the premium for it at $180.

Out the box they don't sound that great. Dolby Atmos with custom EQ is what brings them alive. They scratch very very easy, just a slight finger nail will leave scratches all over them. Only had mine for a few days already scratched up.

It can be used wired and will output better quality from 24bit 48000hz wireless to 24bit 96000 wired as far as i remember

I used to have Corsair virtuoso XT and the sound is bad for me. I have the astro a50, and it definitely sounds better than the corsairs. I have the astro a50, and it definitely sounds better than the corsairs. The sound in virtuosos sounds very hollow and it is something that I did not expect. The bass is super low and the game mode sounds awful. It seems that I am playing with cheap headphones. The microphone sounds great, the multiple connections are amazing but only that. I returned them to amazon and will order the razer blackshark v2 pro. Any suggestion?

I bought the wired blackshark v2. The audio is undoubtedly much better and they have very good bass. So the blackshark wireless will sound amazing. I do not regret that decision. However, the astro a50 are still my point of reference. If the astro a50 can be bought it is better. But if you have already tried them or just want other headphones, the blackshark will not disappoint you.

HS80 scratch so easy. If you hit your finger nail against the ear cuffs they will scratch. I just got them a few days ago and they are already all scratched up on the ear cuffs. I set them down very gently and everything. Corsair are fxxken idiots for making these without testing how easy they scratch.

Not even close, Hyper X does not compare to the HS80. They have a freq response of only 20-20khz while the HS80 has hi-res audio with a 20-40khz range. In addition they have a far superior mic. HyperX has great comfort but that's about it in comparison to both of these. I have used all 3 (cloud II wireless) and the HS80 was my fav with the Razer in 2nd.
