Corsham Streetwalk - Old English Film Location Town
In a change to the usual kind of videos I post, here I take advantage of lockdown to film a quiet, peacock serenaded, early morning street walk of the High Street of Corsham, an old Cotswolds town with many listed buildings. Never fear though, I have included nature!
Thanks for watching!

The house shown in the first seconds was, where my parents have lived in since 2006 to 2009, and that's when my mum came to england for the first time. 2008 for you wondering! Yes, it has been a shared house, loads of polish people in Corsham, and so are we. I grew up in Corsham, and it is a very pretty town. I was born in 2010, and we have had 3 properties in Corsham. My Dad came to England, he first came to Bristol, then came to Corsham in 2006 or 2007. Then my mum came in 2008, and I was born in 2010. My first house ever was in Easton, then Goldney House on Priory Street, where you were waking on in 5:15, and those hedges look wonderful! Have been here a week ago since 2013, and I love Corsham.

Yes, indeed, the house at the start was where the mother of my children lived in the early 80's as she was at the, no longer existing, art college.

Grow up here left in 1988 loved the old Doctor it was the shop with the blue door right at the start on 2 floors. The pub on the left The Flemish Weaver was called Pack horse Inn. The new area as you called it with the supermarkets, Boots fruit and vegetable shop est was built in the early 70s

I was sorry you missed the 2 stone houses on the high st with the stone canopies over the doors....I have to say that at least you have a sense of humor.. sometimes when a thing is so bad it's good.as in this case .

Lovely video. I’m afraid the ‘ruin’ you showed is not an old priory. It’s a folly built in the 18th Century to screen the court from the town. Also the court was not built in the 1650s, it’s Elizabethan with later 18th and 19th century extensions. The modern shopping precinct is called ‘Martingate’.

Aha. Thanks for the clarity. A screen for the court makes much more sense. Did I misname Martingate? I've been there enough times to not get that wrong!

@@ACoincidentalLife I’ve not heard It called New Place before although it could’ve undergone a name change. It was built in the late 60s or early 70s when that end of the High Street was pedestrianised. A former abattoir and butchers was demolished to make way and they incorporated carvings of animals from the old buildings into the facade of the new development giving onto the street (where the bookshop is).

@@chrislethbridge1759 I meant new place as a description rather than it's actual name....altbough, as you say, it is hardly new!
