As someone who doesnt have the other goldens yet, I like golden crook boss because its a lot helpful in the early game. I struggle using engineer early because her turrets cannot hit hidden, making it very awkward when she lets a few escape. GCB is able to handle early decently because you can just spam level 0s to bypass the 50 second cooldown to clear out hiddens thanks to their buffed damage and health. The only huge downside is that you cannot place it until wave 2, or 1 if someone is helping. I was already having that problem anyways with engineer of not being able to start the wave.

Good point, however: 1. Accel has a DPS of 2400. 2. Having a one sited meta isnt fun. 3. Accel is the best Anti-Defense DPS tower since he takes longer to overheat attacking them. Accel got competition, sure. But thats ok, since you have more choices for late game. Examples: Ranger (Less DPS, More reliable and decent AOE) Engineer (Stun resistent and more reliable, but more fragile and can't be buffed well. Minigunner (Great Damage, however really expensive and space dependant) Turret (Insanely reliable DPS but low placement limit and very costly). And lets be honest to ourself. Accel being the only viable DPS tower isn't fun.

I have a semi hot take with this, I was never huge on crook boss once I stated to get more towers but the time I spent with it golden and non golden was unlike most other towers. I enjoyed having an army of rapidly deploying minions that while they may not do much individually did alot in a swarm and if you stacked them properly would do decent damage and compliment defenses and they would always come back quickly if the boss did a mapwide stun and for the golden version I really enjoyed the hard hitting nature of the 8 damage attack being able to 1 shot alot of enemies making its effective dps higher since it didn't needing that extra shot to kill basic enemies and allowing for its goons to finish weakened enemies if you set them to strongest I feel like this update robbed abit of personality from this tower, it will still spawn troops but now its locked behind 50 second cool downs and with 1 less spawner, as well as removing its more hard hitting early with something that feels more on par with every other tower in the game.... which feels boring crook wasnt viable for hardcore, but they could be used everywhere else and alot of fun could be had with them, maybe you can use them in hardcore now but will it be worth it over existing picks? or would it be more of a case of going out of your way to try and make something work I welcome the new life the tower will have but I shall mourn the loss of something I felt was special enough to stand out from everything else turning the mob boss into a weird mix of scout and militant edit: I suggest that when getting the second pistol crook upgrade it should go on a separate spawn timer instead of only spawning in pairs to retain some of its legacy feel

Since accelerator needs a rework, let’s give it one. 1. Stun immunity. With fallen mode basically being summarized as "melee stunning enemies", accelerator needs stun immunity in one or another. Either they increase the range to 22-24, or they create a shield that breaks after 2 stuns, so accelerator takes 3 stuns to be stunned. 2. A charge-up & cooldown of 2 seconds just doesn’t work for accelerator. It rarely gives accelerator any weaknesses, and only limits the DPS. And since we already have g minigunner, turret, & engineer for regular enemies, we might as well make accelerator a boss killer by increasing the charge-up & cooldown, albeit with some DPS buffs. 3. 25 regular minigunners deal ~5,900 DPS with commander, and 15 golden minigunners deal ~5,000 DPS with commander. So considering accelerator has partial stun immunity, I’d say 8 accelerators dealing 4,000 DPS is balanced. And accelerators will NOT be buffed by commander, as commander just overcomplicates balancing (if we change the ratio of cooldown seconds to attacking seconds, we make commander affect accelerator differently, so that means I could accidentally make accelerator too OP, and I’d rather not). 4. So each individual accelerator would have to deal 500 DPS. Finals stats are: Charge-up of 6 seconds, cooldown of 3 seconds, overcharge of 10,000, damage of 100, & firerate of 0.108, for a DPS of 505. Alternatively, the overcharge could instead be 20,000 & the damage be 70, which would give us the same DPS.

I highly doubt TDS will have properly balanced its towers though. Even before the devs made fallen mode way too hard that a lot of towers had to be buffed, a lot of towers still weren’t good enough. My biggest example, mortar. If 7 rangers deal ~1300 DPS, then 4 mortars should deal 800 DPS, yet they deal 400 DPS. And don’t tell me that’s too OP, you get ranger way sooner than mortar, and yet, in 80% of cases you’d rather bring ranger over mortar. Game progression-wise, mortar should be better than ranger. But let’s say they’re supposed to be equals. Well, they’re currently not.

Also, insane crowd control is usually never needed in the game, you need single-target DPS towers with some crowd control to beat fallen mode. And keep in mind, 4 mortars need to at least hit 4 enemies to even deal equal DPS than ranger, and frankly, that’s not viable in the meta when BOSSES EXIST, PLEASE, do NOT tell me you think crowd control will deal with the fallen king. Which is why, I decided 800-1,000 DPS for mortar is balanced. Ranger is still better for bosses with an extra 300 DPS, but mortar would be overall better. Edit: I also find it a bit ludicrous that you claim mortar has crowd control. Bro, we’d all rather use ranger for the regular enemies than mortar in fallen mode. Mortar just deals too little DPS, that’s it.

I think that this is a massive nerf because it used to rely on steady goon spawns but now it spawns less frequently and still dies to most enemies. It is much more expensive which is bad for early to mid game. Flying is good for new fallen but it’s expense and lack of being able to place 6 crook bosses I think it is a low b tier or high c tier

I manage to give as much buffs to reg C. boss as I could so I used dj dmg buff, dmg flag, merc base, cooldown flag, and commanders ability which altogether gave him a total of 403.2 dmg per second or 28.8 dmg in 0.07 Seconds and with all 5 together for a total dmg of 2,016 dmg a second and that's not even including the guys he spawn

G-crook is only better if you manage to stack and keep his tommys alive, which requires skipping a lot and mercenary base field medics. Turret costs over 100k to max, and still mainly serves as sub dps. G-mini although it does insane dps, it takes a lot of space and limit. Ranger is obvious so I'm not gonna explain. And Engineers dps can be inconsistent when it comes to enemies and bosses damaging her sentries.

So saying that its in the name doesn't really answer anything, its only saying that this is the measurement of how fast something shoot. Even if its a universally defined term 1:41, 2:16 and other stat displays contradicts it so there would be a mistake either way

I think that gcrook cannot be any higher than A tier. It’s early DPS is outshined by cowboy and it’s mid to late DPS is outclassed by engi and turret, overall it’s a good tower but I don’t think it fits in with S tier.
