I, for one, appreciate the fact that you made a longer video. It would be very difficult to explain why this bass is important in 3 minute video. Keep up the great work!

Recently bought the 4-string Rithimic. I prefer passive basses, and this is a beautiful example of a great one. With the pickup layout and these controls - dare I say this is an innovation? The custom Bartolini pickups sound wonderful and are very versatile with this control setup. So many great tones. Top notch hardware and components. Amazing value for the money. I bought a "B-stock" unit from a dealer (although I couldn't find a single issue) and got it for $850!! an absolute steal for this bass given the quality. For me, this is a lifetime bass. Couldn't be happier!!

I recently purchased the 4 string version of this bass. Cort really have come a long way.....this bass is a monster. Blending towards the front pickup give a beautiful big supportive sound, while blending towards the back adds alot of focus and makes harmonics ring out so clearly. This has got to be the best value bass I've ever bought. Wish the top on the 4 was more like the 5, but hey.....I can live with it.

Bought a 4 string version recently as I wanted a cheaper bass for functions, pub gigs, etc... Very, very happy with it and agree a lot with this review. Every little tweak of the blend opens up new sounds. Also nice and lightweight.

I agree with Chad, your video was very helpful and not too long at all. As a matter of fact it was pivotal in helping me make a decision to pick up one of these basses. (FYI: Found a dealer on eBay selling these "brand new" from Cort for $499. Said there was some flaw in the finish, but I can't find any flaws. Still have some available I think.) I've only had it a couple of days and haven't fully set it up yet, but so far I'm loving the tone and play-ability. (Getting it setup correctly will only make it better.) Really happy with my purchase so far and thanks for taking the time to do a review. Cheers!

Great review. I'm seriously thinking about purchasing one of these as I also prefer passive basses. My dilema is that I prefer the finish of the 5 string but I prefer playing a 4. If they made the 4 with the finish of the 5 it would be a "no brainer" for me. Cheers.

Great review René, Gregor !! Thanks. This bass sounds really, I like the tone of the neck pickup. What about the low b ? Is it good ? The neck looks wide no ? 19mm strings spacing ? Now I want a new bass, thanks to René, now I want new fingers.

How would you describe the feel of the neck and fretboard on this bass? Is it wide and thick like a P-bass, or thinner and fast like a J-bass, or something else? I am VERY interested, but can't find one locally to try out.... Thanks!

Hi Gregor, I come a few years later with some comments... It is because I bought one of these Rithimic V and played it for a while now. Every little comment you made on this bass is true and very helpful... There is still one question I'd like to ask you : I feel the output level of the bass is quite lower than on other basses I own. For exeample : Fender American Standard Jazz Bass, Läkland Skyline 44-64, Fender Vintera 70's. Do you agree ? Is there actually a lower output level on the Cort ? Thanks and cheer from Switzerland
@basstheworldofficial2 жыл бұрын
Yes I remember that, but I personally like that. With low outputs you can use a lot more pedals and preamps in the studio
@donnnick4 жыл бұрын
Have you had a chance to play any reverend basses? (New line, not rumble fish) and would you recommend the rithmic v or the artisan a5 Wenge/rosewood neckthrough? What are your thoughts on nt, bolt-on vs set neck through and body stringing or even as far as tilt back head adding substation and changing tone. Have you noticed a large difference? I know one can be seen when recording but how about hearing from one to another have you ever noticed a difference worth acknowledging? Thanks for your guys videos Rene you are awesome and would absolutely love your take on any of the above. Hell anyone reading this feel free to comment away lol. Tone wood is a real thing though and if you don’t agree your comment will be ignored but appreciatedZ

Great video on this bass 5 strings. And the detail about the balance knob is totally right : you have a huge kind of sounds. The problem is the 5th string which is out of sound from the the others strings. I owned one with a 5th string less of sustain sound than the others strings : it's awfull ! ! ! Do I decided to sold it. Sorry for my holly crap rithimic 5 bass. Love from Dunkirk Phil.

Hi Gregor nice review. I would like know the distance between strings over the bridge. Do you have this information? I've checked on Cort site, but the specs don't show it.

I don't "suck really bad at bass", it's just much more convenient for me to record with someone else. This way I get to direct our recording sessions and keep an eye on everything. There's multiple cameras, audio recording, etc. to take care for. Doing all this alone and playing bass is not very effective. Also this way I get some of the best German players to play in my videos, this alone is worth it.
