I'm at the point I can start stitching. I had to figure out where the handles went, I think I put them too close together, as you didn't give a measurement. I used some software that measures things in a photo and will tell you the distance. I used the width of the strap as a reference, it figured out the rest. Have to wait til daybreak to start pounding out the stitching holes. The hardest part for me was cutting this out, because the piece of leather is so big. But I think I got it done right.

Im trying to figure out the Space BETWEEN the straps on the main panels and I am guessing each strap is spaced 3 to 3.5 inches either side from the centerline. Rivets as stated 1.5 inches apart. Is this correct?

I do love the look of the tote when constructed this way but stitching it like that just looks like a huge pain in the butt! But, on second thought, it might be worth putting up with so you don't have to wrestle with the bag when trying to flip it right side out because you made it inside out..
