The Joker 2 reviews are a mixed bag, but after the first film in 2019, it was expected. I breakdown the range of reviews for Todd Phillips' Joker Folie A Deux.
@stevenvo1999Ай бұрын
Interestingly, I’ve even seen a few positive reactions from people who didn’t like the first film, and a few negative reactions from those who liked the first film. So I think opinions on Joker 2 will be even more all over the place because it takes a different direction. The discussion when it comes out will likely be interesting (and probably annoying at the same time).

Pointless and Dull??? Danm. I feel like people who don't like sequels or don't think Joker needed a sequel already had their mind made up before watching it. The word "sequel" and "musical" probably helped them with that thinking but aren't critics suppose to not hold anything against the film to give an honest review. Some i feel are skewed.

Do we still live in a time where it's possible for films to get a mixed/polarized response upon release and then be unanimously acclaimed in subsequent years? This film seems like enough of an artistic risk to have that kind of afterlife.

@@vineetdesai6396 Blonde, the Marilyn Monroe biopic starring Ana de Armas got a 14 min standing ovation at Venice and the reviews were decent, once it hit Netflix it was widely panned. Indiana Jones 5 screened at Cannes and it started with 40% on RT, once it hit theaters the score jumped to 69%.

I'm disappointed that critics with early access to films would pepper their reviews with spoilers. I was impressed with how generally Wolverine and Deadpool were spoiler free (until of course I ran into a spoiler in the headline of an article I want even looking for about 2 weeks later) I am keen to see it. There are some rabid fans out there who just seem focused on hating it because it exists and doesn't feature margot robbie (I for one put that as a mark in the movie's favour) and it's just like... can we just see it first and then decide?

I think the musical scenes are just the joint delusions of Harley and Joker. Even the first film had a theatre like aspect to it, the way Aurthur dances when he's lost the plot. Not saying you're wrong, But I think the fact Joker has a girl that shares in his craziness is enough to differentiate him from those incels.
@GiriT10939Ай бұрын
The negative reviews for the first movie were due to alleged incel angle and its possible “influence” on the society. This time around, all the negative reviews are complaining the screenplay, the overdrawn court room scene and entire focus on Arthur as opposed to joker

@@RamtinIrandost Sure films are mostly subjective. However, films can be qualified objectively if we take into consideration all the technical aspects, as well as creativity and originality. In that sense, a film can definitely be overrated, or underrated, for that matter.
