He's changed how he does public stuff since the Oscar year. In the months leading up to his nomination, he and his family talked about River pubicallly for the first time since his death. It led to Joaquin referencing him for the first time in 20 years during his Oscar speech, which was wild. He's since become a father and named his son River. It very much feels like there's a lightness around him now that wasn't there before, it feels like he's healed a lot and let go of his (rightfully held) resentment. It's nice.

@@ejc5480 I definitely noticed a change in how he came off during the award season following the first film to now compared to in interviews in the latter half of the 2010s. There's more of a mellow & lightness to him as you said, that make interviews more enjoyable to watch.

And it was so interesting to see that seeing Gaga motivated Joaquin into keep going and just try to keep up with her energy on the stage, it was a true connection between the two of them, he inspired her to do better as an actress to keep up with him, to be his perfect match on screen, and she inspired him to be better at singing by doing it completely live and dancing long exhausting sequences and repeat it as many times necessary to be her match in a musical performance. I saw the movie today in Peru, I am peruvian by the way, obviously, and seeing Joaquin who is so amazing seeing him at any performance, seeing him acting in this movie is so deeply touching specially to people who not even speak english, who can't even know that the music and letters are an expression of a Usa culture, the lyrics precise in every part of the movie. Joaquin, he expresses the pain, frustration, the horrible loneliness that crosses the line of mental health, and how isolated socially you can get if you don't respond to everyone expectations even on limit situations. How important it's our parents influence in our life's, and that there is badly more and more seeing Jokers around us suffering behind the false idea of the social media happiness. I loved it, besos para Joaquin.❤

SERIOUSLY!!! the way it ended was so heartbreaking for ARTHUR as a character. joker was always placed on him, he only claimed it bc EVERYONE around him was forcing it onto him. and when he realized he became what he despised about society and the only people he thought cared about him lied to him from the beginning, it literally (and the way they showed it in the film was beautiful) broke him mentally. this movie was always about him trying to come to terms with his life and make something of it THAT HE WANTED. not what other people wanted of him...which is why he wanted to be called Arthur by the end and wanted lee to stop singing. but at least he died having finally accepted he's just arthur. in a way his death made more sense than his life.

Love every Ounce of this Film. It has so many Layers that many cannot see it directly or need to catch up. The Music was added to make the Relationship between Arthur Fleck and Lee Quinzel romantic. She loved the Joker and not the real Person which is Arthur Fleck. This makes a lot of Sense too (a different Approach of the Relationship with Joker and Harley) that Lee later on finds the "other" Joker and sticks to an Idea of Him. The Plottwist in the End is fantastic. This Film is another great way to reflect on Humanity. What started out as an untreated Disease (or many false Information in the History) led to a false Inspiration / led to a Misinterpretation in the Present. As mentioned, many Audience couldn't see it right away because there are so many Informations at once in this Film. The Music was wonderful sarcastic approach to over all how Humanity copes up or covers a lot through Music. Because sets the Mood of the Emotion and through that we tend to forget or neglect the Objective part of Life. "That is Entertainment" or better said Distraction! Again, what a fantastic Movie. Love it!

This movie was a really good movie. It just takes time to process all of the elements and all of the layers of the movie I think after watching it once you kind of have to take a step back and really process it all and kind of take it step-by-step by step and seen by scene I think if I watched it again and took it step-by-step scene by scene I think I would’ve understood it better and the fantasy and the dream that Arthur is having in the visions he’s having about being with Harley during the film. It’s complicated to kind of see that because there’s sometimes a really great scene a dramatic scene, but then it goes straight to a singing scene and you’re sometimes confused like, why did you put that there and I think it’s to throw off the audience a little bit but also it’s how you know, how that you know, but Arthur connects with Lee and it’s it’s their story and how they connect with each other through song and that’s how the weird and the you know creepy kind of mindset that they both have which was always a Harley Quinn, Joker type of thing in the way that they communicated I think in this version of it’s very you know it’s their version. It’s very creepy but it’s singing and it’s how they connect with each other but again I think it has to be a step-by-step process seen by scene and I think the mesh of the movie putting it all together was complicated and hard to understand it now looking back on it. It’s a two hour and 18 minute movie so that can be very complicated and very long to process everything but I think if I watched it again which I will it’s a lot better. Watching it from start to finish and really breaking it down kind after watching this interview and watching other interviews and understanding the full circle of the characters and what they visioned and what the actors vision was for their character and what Todd‘s vision was it makes a lot more sense, when you really break it down.
