This is a cool project! Did you take any measurements, is the wheelbase similar between them, how about the track width?

Thanks! Wheelbase is within 3/4 of an inch so split the difference and it’s really close! Track width on the BMW is a bit wider but it’s reasonable and a little extra cutting and fabrication won’t hurt!

mate, why would you do this to such a clean early corvair :(. They aren't making any more of them, its better to preserve the history and enjoy it than to fuck them all with swaps.
