Dude that sounds sick! I just got a 2008 jetstream blue c6 and I want mine to sound just like yours. Already installed the cat back Borla ATAK but it’s definitely not loud enough for me.

Putting a cammed LQ9 with 243 heads in my truck, already had a custom borla ATAK system in it. Sounded great with the stock 5.3, can’t wait to hear it with the new motor

That will sound sick! I've got a GPI stage 3 cam waiting to go in the vette and a BTR stage 3 in the Silverado with carven muffler for now, been debating on throwing some borla on the truck as well.

@@MitchCarveth I mean I love mine personally, mine is a cateye and I haven’t seen a Borla ATAK on a cateye literally anywhere else. True dual with cat delete and an x pipe. The motor is an LQ9 with 243 heads, trunnion kit, 1219 springs, ls7 lifters, hardened pushrods, TBSS intake, TSP stage III high lift truck cam, long tubes, Circle D 3200 billet stall, and a bunch of other goodies. Cant wait, it’s going in as we speak. But as for the ATAK on your silverado I couldn’t recommend it any more.

I have a 2005 z51 manual. It sucks that i cant do any heavy mods, do to California smog test (emissions test)every freaking 2 year. Only thing i did is muffler delete. You dont have smog testing in your location?

did the headers fit right onto the borla exhaust system? i have a full catback borla exhaust on mine i want to also get headers but dont want to waste extra money on midpipes i dont need to

I definitely recommend getting the new xpipe and mid pipes. The Borla xpipe won’t work with the LT headers unfortunately.

I know this is an old video, but you mentioned you had no drone with this setup? Was a tune required?

No drone unless I lug it in lower RPMs pulling a hill on the highway, then it gets a little bit of drone. Only tuning I’ve done so far is delete the rear O2 sensors.

Are you experiencing some bad drone? I have a tsp headers/midpipe with a hooker axle back and the drone is crazy, been looking at a corsa axle back instead!

No drone at all with my setup, only hint of drone is if I’m kinda lugging it up a hill on the highway.

This is a little old hope you can still help. Was the Speedengineering xpipe needed in order to mate to the borla? Or can I use the borla xpipe that came with the exhaust system?

Unfortunately you will need the speed engineering Xpipe/mid pipes to mate the headers to your exhaust. The Borla Xpipe/mids are a little smaller in diameter and mounts by flange to the the cats and also sit more towards the front of the car. With the headers it’s slip on 3” plumbing and the xpipe sits more towards the back of the car. I hope that makes sense

What mid-pipe did you use to connect the long tube headers to the borla? Also what size headers do you have? 1-3/4", 1-7/8", or 2"? I have the Borla ATAK (Cat-Back). I just need the headers and mid-pipe w/ high flow cats.

Just trying to find some long tube headers with high flow cats to connect to new exhaust. I haven't installed anything yet. Wanted to get all the parts first before doing anything.

I used the oem red AcDelco plug wires. Plenty long enough.

When compared to Corsa it’s not really raspy, it’s more deep and throaty if that makes sense. People tell me they feel it in their chest when I get on it going by them.

Not a z06 and the dash flashing is from the camera catching the flicker rate which humans can’t see.

I just received my Borla Catback ATAK exhaust for my C6 (with x-pipe) I’m also considering putting speed engineering headers on my car, but I have one question - did the speed engineering headers bolt directly up to the Borla x-pipe? Thank you, and Unfortunately you won't be able to use the Borla X-pipe with speed engineering headers. you will need the speed x-pipe, the longer headers move the x-pipe location towards the rear of the car.
