I hope when they are all done with the recovery, they will park all the damaged cars side by side for a review video and go over the damage to each.

Who let 4chan loose on this video? It's real. You can watch all the live streams they ran. They have video of them clearing most of the rebar, they have video of them prepping all the area's, they have video from the domecam of people being lowered into the hole. All of this is real, and all of this did happen. I have not been to the museum as of yet, but it is real. Its sad that the sinkhole occurred and many pieces of craftsmanship and mechanical art were damaged/destroyed, but this is not some publicity stunt or conspiracy.

everyone should do a little reading about the Mammoth cave area, many many miles of uncharted caves under the area, sinkholes are normal to the area.

At least nobody was hurt when the hole opened up. I haven't been able to see if there was any rebar in the concrete floor. Does anybody know if the floor was originally reinforced? It is fantastic to see the videos and how small the cars look compared to the sink hole.
@ericjohnson848210 жыл бұрын
There was no re-bar in the concrete, they probably used fiberglass in the concrete, very few 4 inch pours have re-bar, some use wire but that's it.
@slipknot556710 жыл бұрын
Since the museum didnt have a basement they probably assumed that they were building on solid ground so they didnt use rebar

@MarkusReese10 жыл бұрын
GM stated a while back that they were going to work to ensure they get fully restored. Did a bit of reading, and it seems all cars are being sent to GM's special designs branch and being headed up by one of the top guys of GM design and assembly. Every car is going to be full inspected to plan every restoration. As GM put it, they are part of not only Chevrolet's history, but part of the history of America. So while some like the PPG and the spider which we cannot see are in very bad shape and possibly might take years, I am sure we can expect all the stops pulled out.

That was a God awful terrible job...Even a 5 year old would have said to put something soft underneath when they stupidly laid it in it's lid again to redo the straps...sheesh !!! What ? ...were they on Corporate time constraints or something ?!!
@jevets6510 жыл бұрын
You did notice that it fell into a big hole in the earth, right? It was already damaged more than a wash & wax would fix.
@taijon1110 жыл бұрын
jevets65 Wow are you EVER observant !...Your Mommy must be so proud of you, ...whichever street corner she's standing on tonight... Did you know, you nitwit, that they were going to restore all the damage on those cars ? No ?...holy crap why not? oh omnipotent one ? So adding even more damage like scratches and dents from being put on gravel upside down will only make it harder to restore. Course you wouldn't know that yourself unless you've done body work on fiberglass cars before. So go back to your peanut butter & jelly sandwiches and look up respect in your Pictionary...before you open your big trap.......
@nihilyst10 жыл бұрын
Hey TJay, that was exactly what I was thinking! Why do they even use the wheels to put the wires on? I think there are other (better) places to put these straps. And when it comes to the point where they put the car on the ground upside down, thats really annoying me.
@jevets6510 жыл бұрын
TJay Sounds like someone needs to shake the sand out of their panties. If you look at the video at 0:07, you can see the top of the car is already damaged. I seriously doubt that they are going to need to do any more work to it, due to laying it on it's lid, than they were already going to do. Yes, I know they are going to restore those cars. I have been following the story from the beginning, GM is going to do it. If they weren't, they probably wouldn't be going through all the trouble of bringing them up. You are correct. I have never done body work on fiberglass cars. I assume you have, due to your expertise on that process, as well as crane operation, rigging, sinkholes, peanut butter sandwiches, and my mother. If you'll excuse me, I must go look up respect in my Pictionary, which I assume is something like the Dictionary that we adults use. Jesus Loves You
@taijon1110 жыл бұрын
jevets65 Yep, not only am I on my 3rd Corvette..a Z06, so I know how soft fiberglass is compared to steel...and have also followed this from the beggining !! Big deal ! ... & so you yourself wouldn't mind having even more to fill & sand ? What are you? nuts? And YOU..are trying to convince me that you wouldn't have appreciated at least some cardboard put underneath ? I can't believe that !!! Lazyasses is what they were! And yes as a log truck driver (for 4 decades now) mostly the 16 wide foot off-highway ones not the puny highway ones.... amongst other things I have much experience in this field. I do operate cranes, and have rigged up far larger & complicated things than that car. I have operated a considerable amount of other big machinery too. Plus I am a heavy-duty mechanic,a journeyman machinist,welder,Trucking owner operator too. Big bloody deal....Who cares? And having been a foreman, I would have supervised that incident waaay better, & why the hell not ? And Jehovah God, Jesus's Father loves you too !

Here's food for thought... why the breaks in the film... this still doesn't look or feel right to me... i am going to wait for others more educated that myself to analyze this. This is a problem the media itself created with their endless stream of lies... and why not lower a guy down that hole? That i might believe... i mean, what could happen... the roof would fall in on him? Show me a guy down in that hole... knocking on the body of a car... picking up debris... something that looks like it can't be faked.
@ClassicGBodyGarage10 жыл бұрын
Why the breaks in the film? So it isn't 2 hours long! If you watch the other cars being saved the workers are right there next to them. They even walk on the roof and quarter panel of the Blue ZR1 while in the hole. Also if you watch the white vette in this video, it falls further down into the hole once they start pulling it up. It obviously was very unstable. Not sure why everyone thinks this is fake??? Its a damn car museum. It isn't a 911 event!
@wandaoreilly10 жыл бұрын
***** Where is the bent and twisted rebar that should be there? Are we to believe a concrete floor in a commercial building was not reinforced? In another video there is a car with a mountain of dirt on top of it... where did that come from? Was the dirt clinging to the underside of the floor? Critical thinking, not insults, will do you better.
@junebug959410 жыл бұрын
Go there and fuckin look for yourself. Or better yet, watch the security camera footage of them falling in

@joepawlosky791110 жыл бұрын
Working in Video Production, the "breaks" in the film are there to shorten a "length in time." Do you want to see two hours worth of a car lifting inches at a time, around dirt, rocks, & the cranes maneuvering around posts & people? It's not some kind of conspiracy, sheese, get real.
