Whats with all the negative comments?! Cory is emblematic of what all musicians should be aspiring to in 2024, nobody is doing it like he's doing it, the caliber of his playing, arranging, just straight up musicianship level in general, is sky high, his success well deserved!

Picked up a Cory Strat for my 40th. It’s an awesome guitar. The only negative about it and it’s a 100% personal thing is the Pearl pickguard is a bit flashy for my tastes so I had a mint green one made custom for it (as it’s a slightly different shape due to the body size).
@VertexEffectsInc

That was just consistent with what came on those Highway 1 Stratocasters. So I don’t think it was necessarily a Cory choice.

@@VertexEffectsInc I think it was Kirk Whalum who called Chris Standring the future of jazz guitar... (if you don't know Kirk, his story is Bob James was pitching him for a deal with his label and Winton Marseilles rings in and the exec asks Winton if he's ever heard of Kirk, and he says, "Yeah! He's BAD ASS!" and so it went. I used to live in Houston where we could just watch Kirk blow in the local clubs before he got discovered. He would be covered in sweat from giving it his all every night and come out and talk to everyone in the audience. ... keep up the great work!
