Reality Check: Blau is from an antiquated school of flute playing (too direct with little imagination or flexibility). The great players don't play like that anymore. And almost no one out there can compare with Pahud or Dufour (they have many clones, but they aren't authentic). It's already a major loss for the Berlin Phil that Dufour is leaving. Let's hope Pahud doesn't leave any time soon.
