COSAS is calling for the closure of non-compliant foreign-owned spaza shops after the death of five children who allegedly ate snacks bought from a spaza shop in Naledi, Soweto. COSAS president Kamogelo Nkosi wants the government to deploy inspectors to these establishments. Nqobile Madlala has more.

Blame the government for these incidents. People have been raising alarm about illegal activities by these foreigners but they were called xenophobic

ANC , what have our children, youth done to deserve all this.? We looked at you when our children perished in PIT TOILETS now SPAZA SHOPS of BANGLADESH, PAKISTAN, SOMALIANS, ETHIOPIANS. THE BLOOD OF OUR CHILDREN DOES NOT HAVE TO BE SOLD THIS CHEAP. These foreigners call the security to kill our children in their townships because of the truth, why? HOW LONG?

They must have R5 million to get a business permit. The failure to produce such permit while operating aa business is a crime. They are also in the country illegally which is crime. Where does it stop? There's actually 8 children 5 in Naledi and 3 in Cape Town.

Ask again😢 surely he's not because he is sitting in parliament folding his arms and do nothing. Its obviously the only thing Ramaphosa cares for it's himself and his beloved once. The very same people voted for him are suffering. Where are the promises he made to South Africas,????

They did invest in the local Spaza initiative. The money is gone. Ask Mmusi Maimane. He is trying to get to the bottom of it.

Why only foreign owned spaza shops ? Do local people have a free pass to be non-compliant ?
@ReaonGroup
@ReaonGroup 3 сағат бұрын
There no existence of local citizens running the Spaza Shops within the Townships currently. If the locals taking this initiative to demand for trace and tack systems put in place it will be more easy for complaint to be vivid. You have asked a profound question at the same time the matter needs to be addressed drastically. Well done to the young lads for standing up to fight this horrific behaviour.

@@ReaonGroup What nonsense. Spaza shops have generally been unregulated . For some reason , which you can't explain , foreigners have out competed locals.
