Full court sprints but they get increasingly faster

To calculate the players’ speeds in miles per hour (MPH), I used the following method: First, I measured the distance the player ran using a court distance calculator, starting from the beginning of their sprint and ending at the end of their sprint. Then, I timed their sprint using a stopwatch. By dividing the distance by the time, I obtained the speed in feet per second, which I then converted to MPH.

@@369pendulumthey aren’t being tracked, and NBA court is 94 feet (I think). Speed=Distsnce/time. We now the distance, and we can measure the time from baseline to baseline, this in probably how he’s calculating the speed. That’s why it says “average”. If you covered the court in 3 seconds, you’d be going roughly 30ft per second, or about 21 mph. They cover it in about 3.5 on every clip, which is right around 17 mph. It’s probably not super accurate, but it gives an idea.
