What is your take on brands that claim they are "Plant Based". I've seen this term used on alot of products in the U.S especially. They say plant based, but I still see some synthetic based ingredients . Love the channel btw. 💖 It's helping me to make more informed decisions as a consumer.

The claim ‘plant based’ may or may not be okay depending on how they are using it and the overall context of its use. For example, do they have some plant based ingredients present, even if synthetic, this can be okay. Claiming a product is ‘only’ or ‘totally’ plant based is not suitable if there is some synthetic components, but otherwise ‘using’ plant based ingredients or ‘contains’ plant based ingredients would be suitable even if there are synthetic components present. If I use only natural ingredients such as Shea butter in my product, can I still label my product with the statement “all natural” without going through the certification process?

If in fact all your materials are all natural/naturally derived - but be careful, you may be using some partially synthetic materials and not realise it, for example, many preservatives are synthetic (even if nature identical, they are still synthetic) and most vitamins are also synthetic (again, nature identical, but synthetically produced). You can only say your product is all natural if in fact it is all natural and no synthetic components.
