Why can't political debates be like this? This is so much more interesting, informative, and constructive than the way we do political debate
@wilder6408
@wilder6408 2 жыл бұрын
Because many people in politics are bad-faith actors pushing their agendas. Like do you really expect Ted Cruz to not know about how CO2 is contributing to climate change when he went to Princeton and Harvard? Many politicians are smarter than you think. They are just trying to manipulate voters instead of trying to determine the supreme truths in life like these fellows.
@Blu3Med1c

@@Blu3Med1c This is why the modern democracy is flawed. Modern democracy is not about the free will for you to vote who ever you feel would be the best, but rather to vote who ever brain washed you the best. But i absolutely have no idea how to make democracy work, maybe removing whatever is making politicians do that, could be money and therefore capitalism, but i didn't put too much thought on it yet.

System is the problem 🏡 Our Life should be around these Great Qualities 1, Show all living creatures; all the love and kindness as much as you can. 2, Only try to be honest with yourself. If you try to be honest with others, you will get into big trouble soon or later. 3, Aim only one target at a time; otherwise you are chasing two rabbits and you will miss both. So, the reason behind it. Have one powerful reason and never ever give up the one you want the most. 4, Don't try to be good person only but be the powerful person. We will grow to be the one or we will die. There is no other choice. 5, Always learn and look for to improve something your life. 6, You are not alone. Love and faith the high power reduces unnecessary stress in life. But never completely rely on it. 7, Success and happiness are the byproducts of our usefulness. So, always increase the possibility of success. 8, Life is not going to be easy. Because of our unnecessary things. Eliminate all the unnecessary things as much as you can by organising yourself well with the environments. 9, Never believe anything without the proper evidences. 10, Always try to give more than you take. Because it is dignity/ character of the divinity within you. 🌎 As long as people continue to see themselves as separate from everything else, they lend themselves to being completely enslaved. Success depends on how well we relate to everything around us. Joy comes from that bliss of connectedness. I believe that unarmed truth and love will have the final word in reality. To love; you should have good heart. I am a good person until I see a person better than my standard of goodness. Being good is the progress towards a worthy cause. Love is God. Whoever lives in love, lives forever. How selfish it is to try to keep something forever? Love is all about nourishing, nurturing, sharing and expanding the love within you for all. The principle to which we adhere to is that we have kindness of love at heart for the whole of mankind. As long as there is the unnecessary differences within us; we can not live peacefully so we have to eliminate all the unnecessary differences among us so we can love all. People abilities may vary but not there true love. If we love a person/ God for a reason then we love the reason but not the person. No reason is the reason to love the person because true love never fails. So do not compare or measure the true love as first or the last but love all truly. If you love people truly then you can understand people. If you don't love then you don't understand people at all. People are controlled by system why? The Cyclical Consumption is the current economy all over the World. It is making the scarcity problems of the earth finite resources to deteriorate day by day. Current Monetary System is legalised theft. Real money is Gold and Silver. Scarcity gives the money more value. Real money won't lose it's value. When Governments stay away from Gold & Silver then very easy to transfer the wealth / resources to upper class the Rich (Corporatocracy) Elite. When the Governments are printing out more new fiat currency with reserve banks, our old currency is losing its purchasing power everyday. They are printing millions of currency everyday. All governments and laws are existing right now to transfer wealth to upper class the rich elite. The USA Government & other Governments are in many countries, bailed the investment banks & financial institutions in 2008 against the majority of the people. There is no democracy in any countries. Because of the Money System based on profits motive only above all else even humans lives and well-being. So, we do not have freedom to protect our values with the money so on. The violence, bankruptcy & all the negativities are build into the Monetary System of our society. All are owned (including ourselves) by Reserve Bank. Which is private cartel the corporation. So, in legal system, we are legally considered as chattel the properties. They make money in the capital markets with our birth certificates. They do not consider us as Humans. That's the truth. We are at the invisible war with the Elites (Corporatocracies). We have to fight for our Freedom. Resource Based Economy is the Solution. We have to declare the earth resources as the heritage of all the people of this world. So everyone has access to it. Please have your research about zeitgeist movement then you know the truth more. Truth About Health/Drugs Industry Because Of It Your Life At High Risk The drug industry is a 1/2 trillion dollars a year worldwide conglomerate. Almost 300 billions dollars just in North America. That is really big business. What would happen if everyone were well? There is no money in health. You see, good health makes a lot of sense but it doesn't make a lot of dollars. Because everything they do is toxic. Every drug they use, prescription drugs, all drugs are liver toxic, bar none. If you've had amalgam fillings put in your mouth by dentists. It is highly toxic. There's cancer because most of the chemos are themselves carcinogens. To view the tumor as the cancer and we know the tumor is not the cancer. The cancer industry is 200 billions dollars a year. The more work they get, the more profit there is. You have to dismantle; If the truth ever came out about what we would need to do. 30% of people of females in America are at risk of getting, will get cancer of the breast. The ones that are already dead have been grossly mistreated by the medical profession and by the government that supposedly is supposed to encourage free research and development of all possibilities. Why would medical doctors who studied medicine and practice medicine and are heavily funded by pharmaceutical companies why would they go and look into vitamins? That they never had the answer orthomolecular. And as more and more of our population start taking their health into their own hands, there's going to be even more and more of changes. It can't go on the way it is. The system is failing apart. We must make nutrition the primary prevention strategy for the population. You are what you eat. You are everything that you have ever done to yourself. The choices you make directly affect the outcome of your life. - (Food Matters Documentary in Netflix) 😊 Well, I truly love God. I am not religious but very spiritual person. So, I believe 1) Religion is the beliefs in someone experiences But spirituality is having my own experiences. The mainstream religions people promote religious ideology by giving guidelines and guide but In my spiritual life; I do not want anyone or anything between God and me to restrict my freedom to worship God. 2) We do not need any authorities to do good work. The god work is the good work always. In contrast; organised mainstream religions are claiming that they have the authorities to do God works as leaders so on. 3) God is not capable of doing wrong thing, change the past for us and create anything out of nothing for us. Nothing means not anything. So, even God is limited. The mainstream religious people believe that God is unlimited. 4) God wants us to take responsibilities for our righteousness life but not for all the consequences of our actions because they are continued to exist among us. So, How can god punish us for all our consequences? The mainstream religious people believe we are full of sins because of all our actions. 5) Freewill is an illusion. People always choose the perceived path of greatest pleasure. So, we do not have choices all the time. In contrast teachings of the mainstream religions are promoting people to do god's will always because we all have choices of freewill always. 6) We can not separate everything into groups. So, everything for good and evil and there's no success and failure for everything. If everything is real then real things can not be threatened. Once you come to understand that God/The Holy Spirit is in each of us, You will no longer need a Book to tell you how to live. Then why we need religious scriptures? The Virtue is the expression of the basic goodness in our actions. The Basic goodness is the fundamental worthiness of every individuals. We are worthy to God always in everything. 7) Beliefs in a cruel God makes a cruel man. No matter what; every living creatures has the right to live and What makes their life cheap? Everything depends on everything. Nothing too big or too small in value. We can not love and hate at the same time; Being a vegetarian means love without cruelty happily. The mainstream religious people are killing people and sacrificing animals in the name of God. They promote God's cruel punishments. The Punishment is endless for Sinners/Devil according to religious scriptures. But God is love always. Overcome hate with love. If all religions for peace, unity? No way. Because they are not for peace. 8) Well, The God gave us everything to go from moment to moment in our lives as we do our part and pray only to thank god then the Love is in progress. The Love is always for everyone. We are always worthy of the God's love. Our greatest fear is; not to be loved by anyone but we are all loved by someone. When we eliminate all our unnecessary differences among us then true peaceful life is possible with the true love. If we can't find the peace within ourselves then we will never find it anywhere else. 9) This is the Fight for independence and freedom of humanity to worship God freely without religious guide and guidelines to restrict us. Unnecessarily, We do not want third party controls over us in anything ; especially in spirituality. 10) Revive Survive Thrive. Sincerely, The Real Peacemaker against religious oppression. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fpPZdKuDm8h-rJY kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnqteX2webaWiK8 kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6rbk5ejdtN8mas kzbin.info/www/bejne/rX3dlpShgKhpnKc kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmnZeZRur6lqoLs .

@@FendiYT The concept of "sin" is a man made construct to strike fear into weak minds who can't be independently good to themselves and other people, and so builds a pseudo-foundation of morals. The problem with you religious people, is that you bunch religion and morals into one ball, and if I were to snatch that ball and throw it away, you are left with no morals, because it was based on a fictional foundation that was never built on instinct. Another problem is you don't argue in a logical, analytical and scientific way. You can't escape science, it's a method to observing, testing, and proving hypotheses right or wrong through what can be seen, calculated and observed to a point where it's so well proven correct that it functionally becomes fact. If I take your religion, I take your good with it. You on the other hand, can't take anything from us, because morals is instinct, it's biological. The only way to take from our morals is to kill us, but that act would be evil, wouldn't it? Remember, animals know no such thing of religion. They are built to survive, and if they are social creatures, will ensure the safety and well-being of their kind. Human beings just took this to a complex level.

@@seemlyme Science is about giving hard proven facts from an unbiased point of view. However... Love is something powerful and can till an extent be explained by science on how it works. But... Mature atheists are not arrogant people who claim to know everything. After all we know most facts, but people look for "meaning". Now, meaning is a man made idea, just as sin is an idea, or rather a concept own to only humans. Atheists are looking for meaning too. But this doesn't necessarily mean you have to develop a religion to find meaning. Now I understand you are not really religious, but rather just spiritual. And I think there comes an inevitable point in anybody's life - atheist OR religious, that we start thinking abstractly about what can make you happy? What makes your life worth living? It all comes down to comforting ourselves in a world where you can become prey. And because we are so emotionally complex, we want to find meaning. And I think this is why people develop organized beliefs, so that they comfort themselves from the dark truth that we are here to hunt kill, survive, and eventually die. Because we are so emotionally complex, we just can't accept the simplicity and coldness of existence. And this is what sets atheists apart from believers. Atheists acknowledge the cold dark truth, but they are reluctant to comfort, because it is deceiving from the truth. Atheists at the end of the day just want to be happy, they just don't use religion, because of how artificial it is.

@J w Not sure I have a preference when it comes to Alex of GMS, and even RR has shown significant growth. I may disagree with their atheists agenda, as it never seems to address anything I happen to believe yet keeps pretending it does, but I can hardly blame them as most people seem ignorant of Hempel's paradox to the degree most of them make claims similar to "white ravens don't exist" by merely having observed black ravens as validation for that claim. Even physicists repeatedly make the mistake of claiming to be talking about the (entire) universe while merely being talking about only the visible part of the universe. People are sloppy and often leave out necessarily intended restrictions that apply to their statements as they haven't considered the possibility another person wouldn't necessarily make the same restriction. For instance the statement "5+5=10" is valid when applying a decimal number system, since a decimal number system is the default for most people in the western world we don't mention the number system the statement is made in. But "4+4=10" is equally valid when applying an octal number system, however when making a statement like this, only few people will understand the truth of it if you don't mention you are applying an octal number system, most would assume the statement is made in a decimal number system even though the applied number system isn't mentioned.

@Egalitarian 4life If you don't know what the other person is talking about, you cannot possibly derive to a conclusion about what is stated, and certainly can't draw the conclusion the other person is pretending. It's obvious that by this statement you are pretending to know something you denied to know in the previous sentence, you are not even internally consistent in your claims. Either you don't know what the other person is talking about, or you do know what the other person is talking about and have evidence for the other person to be pretending. You can't have it both ways.

"Love thy neighbor like yourself" doesn't work if you hate yourself now does it?
@globalunconscious
@globalunconscious 3 жыл бұрын
It only works on the level of showing the same respect for the free will and desires of the other, as you would wish others to do for you. If Love = empowerment, then you would wish your goals to be empowered in the same manner as you empower another's goals. It is not true that if I like flowers that I SHOULD give others flowers. NOTE: I'm not shouting but using capitalization for easier reading. It is true that if I like being given things THAT I LIKE, that I should give other people things THAT THEY LIKE. The only way to know how to TREAT another person, or how to LOVE another person is to KNOW that person. There are many ways to know a person, but asking them what they would like, and what their goals are are pretty good ways to know how best to LOVE someone. I would state that it is impossible to LOVE something you do not know. There is no universal action that is 'wanted' by every human on the planet. Even being asked 'what would you like' is not welcomed by many. The example that is often in my head is likening 'love thy neighbour as thyself' with 'do no harm'. To me these are the same thing when you breakdown what they mean. Just like there is no way to know when you are helping someone without asking them, or knowing them, there is ALSO no way of knowing what will hurt someone without the same sort of inquiry. A specific example of this is a person bleeding alone on a road. You do not know if leaving the person alone will harm the person, and you do not know whether bringing them to medical care is the will of the person, without further information. 'I Robot' Isaac Asimov's rule: ".. or through inaction allow a human to come to harm" comes to mind. If the human on the road wished to die, then you would need to ask that person if that is their WILL, if it is not obvious. If the human on the road wished to be helped, then you would need to ask the person.. or in absence of more information you could gamble one way or the other. There is still no way to know if harm or help is the result of your actions. Perhaps blood transfusions are not their will, but setting their bones back in place is their will. It is 'respect of their unique will' that is the common thread between 'do no harm' and 'love thy neighbour'

It was Professor Ward’s job to be the affirmative of “Morality Without Religion is Bankrupt” His assertion the entire debate was you can’t even have morality at all without a God. He torched his own case when he said “You can have morality without God”. You have given no proof of your assertion that anything Alex said was “nonsense.” I also find it telling that you really don’t give any proof for anything you said. Your feelings on these matter’s don’t count for much of anything as they can’t be given as proof. @J w ??? you really misunderstood what Alex was saying. He was giving analogies to demonstrate that theistic base of morality is in the end equivalent to self declared moral framework. He has demonstrated that it is essentially equivalent. Some may be motivated more by the claim that the moral framework is god-given, but that is a distinction without a real difference.
@colinrobertson7580
@colinrobertson7580 3 жыл бұрын
@J w the question asked by the audience at the end demonstrated clearly how the professor's argument was incoherent. She asked if you needed to believe in a God or if God needed to exist. It is impossible to demonstrate the difference, and as such any reason for believing to be good including the existence of a god is equivalent to any other. The professor believe that his definition is based in objective truth, however he cannot prove that, which makes him the same as everyone else asserting objective moral truth. The hidden argument is that either believing in anything is sufficient or believing in one very specific definition of one god is necessary. Which means that less than 5% of the world is capable of proper moral reasoning, which is ridiculous. Our morality is based in our biology which is why moral reasoning can be completely secular, and it often is, even for the religious.

Around 20 minutes in, the Christian shoots himself in the foot with Poland's example... While it's true that the Catholic church made some positive impact on the country at that time, contemporary events show exactly why religion and politics shouldn't mix!

I've watched a number of debates with Alex in the fray. This kid (and I say it with respect) is wickedly smart. It is interesting (and embarrasing) to see him make a professor squirm. The professor probably thought he was going to have a nice night-out with the children pontificating his superior knowledge. Instead he got (gently) mauld.

5:58 ~'So that's step one; for morality to be important to me, I have to believe that it's true that I ought to be compassionate to people, in an objective sense.' -- What I hear here is him expressing his preferences, the things he cares about, and they are shockingly limited. If later he's going to argue that only God can imbue things with objective value, this expression was effectively 'if God didn't exist and imbue people with objective value, I wouldn't care about them.' Okay professor, maybe you are something like a sociopath or psychopath? An uncaring person? (More likely you are wrong and believe this for reasons of apologetics and rationalization.)

@@supmaidoods8753 I have never heard that in person, but I have heard people with stories like this. They think it speaks to how Faith can be transformative, to me it speaks to how people give religion credit for horrible things.
