I received mine a while ago. It was nearly unusable until the software was updated a few times. It's a lot better now but the battery life is still not good and the front screen is poorly integrated with separate updates which crashed endlessly. Once updated however it is a lot better. Overall your review is totally accurate. A great product and build let down in many practical areas. Like you said I ended up using my Samsung S21 and Microsoft Surface as its not a practical alternative.

I think you missed the point of this device. I don't care about ai benchmark performance or photo quality. What about work, what about Linux, what about speed in other relevant things, like wifi speed, webbrowsing, multitasking

Worth noting if this device had been built by Apple or Samsung, it would have had a £2,000 price tag and probably wouldn't have sold that well. The device is a more a communication device rather than a smartphone as known today. I have the Cosmo and the predecessor to it, the Gemini. If you want a smartphone as compared with a slab, this is not for everyone. The device is a throwback to the Psion Series 5 palmtop computer. I have been able to install some productivity tools on it and under certain circumstances leave a laptop at home over keeping this in my inside pocket or back pocket.

It is not going because it is a scam simple. Later one you face so much issues with the phone like the sim card which stop working or the display cover or the battery. Planet computer is simply a scam I bought my Cosmo 600 Euros expensive for all the issues I'm facing it is not worth it, trust me. SCAM sorry

I paid for mine in September 2019 and never got delivered. Planet just tried to deliver any keyboard layout they had instead of the paid keyboard as I complained for never being delivered and claimed to be refunded. 750 USD stolen. Really great company and support.

@@TotallydubbedHD nope. Paiement was made to indiegogo back when they where crowfunding Cosmo. Planet just told me to wait (forever) or accept any keyboard they had, but of course I wouldn't have paid 750 USD for a Cosmo if my localized keyboard wouldn't had been promised and used as a commercial argument. Then lied few times like "you will get your pledge very soon", but still nothing more than a year later. Oh yes, they recently banned me from their social network to stay quiet as I was complaining about this "scam".

The use cases I want my phone to do, in order of importance: 1. phone calls 2. SMS 3. Music 4. Random wikipedia lookups 5. Note taking 6. Map functionality The onscreen keyboards with their AI autocorrecting everything I say to the 1000 most common words in English have become almost unusable. I now call my friends instead of replying to texts, unless I'm at home and can use a proper keyboard. I have switched back to pen and paper for taking notes on the fly, because autocorrect decided I needed to add "overland Sasuke" to my grocery list. Being bilingual is impossible with an android. I am going to be purchasing either a dumbphone or something like this. I do not care about cameras or games or social media, that is not what my phone is for. It's a phone. It's a communication device. I need to be able to communicate.

The main camera is not 24MP but a 6MP camera that upscales through interpolation the final picture to a 24MP resolution, hence the horrible picture quality.

That might explain it, I extracted and checked the resolution, and saw the specs, which all indicated 24MP

I liek the thoroughness but I think this misses the point of the device and will not sway opinions, perhaps I am alright bought in, but I think a lot of people arent buying it to replace their smartphone if you use those metrics yes it will fall flat, people simply want the convenience of better work on the go that will pay off over time, I am pretty sure if basic stuff just like 4G/5G calling, SMS messaging, etc.were on more laptops this would be a much less successful device
