Neutron stars form when a massive star runs out of fuel and collapses. They are basically the collapsed, burnt-out cores of dead stars. Please, watch the video to learn more about Neutron stars.

CORRECTION: A star needs to have at least 8 times the mass of the Sun in order to become a neutron star.
@hanksauri
@hanksauri 3 жыл бұрын
Some extra facts: To form a neutron star, a star needs to have 8-20 times the mass of the sun Neutron stars are 1.4-2.8 times the mass of the sun, packed in a ball 15-25 km in diameter Neutron stars have crust made of iron nuclei, so dense that it's 10 billion times stronger than steel, surrounding a sea of neutrons Most neutron stars have magnetic fields 1 billion times stronger than Earth's Some OP neutron stars have magnetic fields up to 1 million times stronger than that of a normal neutron star, and are called magnetars The powerful magnetic field of a neutron star acts like a particle accelerator, blasting out twin beams of visible light, radio waves, and X-rays from the magnetic poles These beams, combined with the rapid rotation, sweep around space like the beams of a lighthouse, creating pulses of radiation at a consistent rate, and neutron stars that do this are called pulsars When neutron stars collide, they explode in a massive explosion called a kilonova, producing lots of heavy elements, the gold alone in one kilonova can be equivalent to 100 Earth masses

When the mass of the star left over after from a supernova is from 1 to 3 times that the mass of the sun you have a neutron star. After our sun dies and it sheds the outer layers, it will be a white dwarf.

Neutron stars are insanely epic !! Btw, a star has to have ATLEAST 8 times the mass of our sun to be able to undergo a supernova. The 1-3 masses fact you gave is the mass of the actual LEFT-OVER core, this is what becomes a neutron star :)

I know a neutron star that goes by the name PSR J1748-2446ad and he is spinning so fast if you humans were to stand on his equator you wouldn't be cursed due to rotation speed making the gravity there less instance.

"Okay, I'm as fat at the should as I could." haha. Ask an odds maker what the likelyhood of shuffling a deck of cards back to consecutive suits, never mind any particular order. Never. Eliminating all other particles to leave only neutrons has to be one of the most ridiculous, cockamamie concepts ever dreamt up to cover the ignorance of theoretical physicists who couldnt explain a phenomenon . . . ever . . . except perhaps black holes. hahahaha!! And talking about it serjously no less!!! hahaha! "All your base are belong to us!"
