You live your dream and be grateful you've found your passion. Don't ever let the people inthe hard science tell you that astronomy is a useless field, it's got no practical use. I certainly regret letting people talk me out of it since I needed a job that actually paid the bills. While I pursue it now I'm way behind. Oh and my answer to people now who say that it's got no purpose. To have at least one more moment of pure wonder.

Well there's a high chance its been dead for a really long time, so it most likely already went super nova long ago. We just need to wait for the light to reach us, which might take a really really long time. So we might be dead by the time it reaches. But yeah it would be cool to see.

I think he's referring to orbiting objects such as planets and moons that were within the expansion radius of a star going through the supernova process. Though I'm not sure if objects that are not burned up still orbit a neutron star. I think there's a black hole at the center of our galaxy.

What about hypergiants (the stars with the largest diameters)? Like rho Cassiopeia? Or Stephenson-218? Or UY-Scuti? Also, even though hypergiants are the largest, they aren’t even close to the most massive. The most massive star is R136a1 (around 150~ solar masses)

it's kind of like what you humans do your cells divide to replace dead cells over time those cells DNA become damaged witch results in a less efficient body and then death. So, at the end of the day everything that is alive is slowly killing itself but is that a bad thing does that make everything pointless? I don't think so even if everything dies that doesn't make living pointless even if you don't have an effect on what will happen 50 million years from now that doesn't mean that you existing left no mark maybe you didn't do something massive. But you don't have to as long as you had a positive effect on the area and people around you don't need to change the world nor try to build a great device. If you make the generals area around, you a better place than I would say you as a human lived a life that was worth something. and the same goes for us stars.

I think I'm starting to get astraphobia the more I learn about space if not for the sheer mass and craziness that goes beyond our solar system but the fact how things work and how they began in the first place that keeps me up at night I'm not even worried about other intelligent life and what they may want to do to us if they ever come to our planet if they're not already here that pales in comparison to all the other s*** similar to how I have a slight case of Thalassophobia wondering what the f*** is below our surface
