Want a place where you can see the Milky Way? It’s a place with virtual NO light pollution. Look up North Korea at night from space and there’s a stark difference between it and its neighbors. The expression “bombing them back to the Stone Age” would have this effect.

Instead of using lights properly we are wasting light by sending it upwards too

Imagine bunches of small resting camps “in the middle of nowhere” (in the deserts, oceans, woods hills), with the main purpose is “catching unpolluted skies” with bunches of optic tools especially for peeking space clear sky. Sounds like a good touristic journeys on vacations of our descendants for 100-200 years later and beyond.

That is an excellent idea. It is important for us to remember the necessity of experiencing unpolluted skies from time to time. Addressing light pollution is crucial for maintaining the natural beauty of our night skies and for our overall well-being.❤️

Its getting better now, at least where i live. Many cities changed their street lights into LED ligts and those don´t spread as much as the old ones. I can see now more stars from my backyard than a few years ago

@@Cosmoknowledge Vienna, so in the light polluted center of europe. More at the edge of the city, so i always saw some stars at night but now i can see many more than some years ago. And the orange glow when i look in the direction of the city is also getting weaker, so i think this summer i can wipe off the dust of my telescope xD

If J407 b were in our solar system, our ancestors might have worshipped the vinyl record in the sky as a supreme disk being. Should any asteroids come our way we would conclude that it’s the it the giant vinyl record’s wrath for our sins. ☄️

@@Cosmoknowledge I always thought of an international lights out night. Everyone must be off work, everyone must turn off the lights to the houses, streetlight, buildings, interstate and for one night only the world is quiet and free of artificial lights. People who live in cities would have the chance to look at the night sky especially those that are not able to travel to other place. Just turn off the lights for one night or a weekend. Imagine how many stars would come out in NYC or in LA

No, Al Gore was/is about clean energy and Earth's environment (climate). This is about light "spillover" making it harder to see celestial stuff in the night sky. A good example of spillover is when you try to see your phone screen standing in the sunlight and you have to seek shade ,etc.
