At 530 kilometers in diameter I don't think the angle really matters. At that size it would punch right through the crust at any angle. Even at a 45 degree angle the transient Crater would be around 500 kilometers deep. The heat generated by this impact would created a massive amount of hot vaporized rock vapor. This would spread across the planet and wipe out life on earth, and boil away the oceans, completely.

It matters though.. In certain trajectory, just at near miss, earth could slingshot the rock right at the moon.. And then what happens?

Nothing would happened, it'a a gas giant 1000 times bigger than earth. So asteroid of that size would go through Jupiters layers of gas until it reaches the point where Jupiters immense preasure just breaks into a dust

@@nikolasarky8558 Indeed, my friend. Jupiter can hold nearly 1,300 Earths. I admit the asteroid is larger than comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 and that comet did leave a few blemishes but Jupiter did not notice them. Jupiter wouldn't notice the asteroid either. Jupiter is HUGE man!

This would have a temperature of thousands of degrees and spread around the planet in a matter of hours. Plants, animals and people would be wiped out hours after the impact. Within a few days or weeks at most our oceans would be gone as well.

I think in a scenario like this, one of Earth's many organisms is now much better prepared than any creature ever was. Humans ! Humans would defend their planet for the sake of their existence. We would first try to deviate the asteroid by powerful kinetic impacts and change its trajectory and therefter nuke it in order to reduce it to chunks so that it won't have the capacity to harm us in anyway even in the far future.

An asteroid of this size, at the moment? We wouldn't stand a chance. And I'm a highly optimistic person.
