The magic phrase for any exposition "(first) WHAT we know and (then) HOW we know it" wonderfully done here. Thank you.

Professor Hiranya Peiris delivers a fabulous content packed lecture. Her delivery and her use of visual and audio examples makes this subject extremely accessible. What I loved most about this was her joy in her subject and her insistence on the necessity of collaboration. It's extraordinary what people can achieve when they work together. Thank you for this.

A lucid lecture on "seeing" the universe by EM waves and "sensing" it by Gravitational waves. The limitations of human endeavour in such a giant search beautifully explained by Dr Hiranya Peiris. Thought experiments(predictions) and their verifications could not have been more beautiful.

Excellent talk, but @ 29:00 the graph says that the Dark Energy was suspected since 1980s? I don't think that's correct, because when in 1998 they found supernovas in distant galaxies being further away than what theory predicted, they were certain they made some measuring mistake, and repeated the measurements seventeen times.

When a star explodes the spectrum analysis shows how that particular event unfolded, and the same applies to the observable universe. It's equivalent to looking at the face of a clock and seeing all the numerals and, infer the possibilities of past and future sequences of events. The observable universe is the picture of Mr Michael Mouse and the hands moving in cycles. (Hand waving?) If you watch the clock from the side, the second hand appears to stand still at the top and bottom of its path, but accelerate and slow each side, so a disc or field of motion has an analog version in the clock. Gravity-mass effect of Quantum Fields.

Is it just me or do the speakers at RI dislike America LOL. I am at Video 19/52 and almost every speaker has made one joke or another and the U.S.A's expense. Can't say I am complaining I actually find it hilarious.

Nice to see a Human Being who is not white, who does not seem to hate people who are actually white! I am a white male. I have great respect for your knowledge! In fact I would offer the observation that I can't even approach your knowledge! I have no moral issue with you! You, as far as I know are morally equivalent to me! I simply respect your apparently tremendous, hard earned understanding of our Universe! Why should people of colour hate me as if I perceive them to be inferior! I, my family, my friends, my colleagues DO NOT look at the world this way! I say a bunch of globalist, industrialists like the late, hated David Rockefeller, want to use us to get richer! Telling us who we hate (even if we don't) and who we love (even if we don't)!

If GAS BONDING is a fact, Gravity/Black Holes are not. All downward falling motion, including Newtons apple, begins when rising gas molecules becomes trapped gas molecules, known as GAS BONDING, which take on a state of solid mass, blocking out it's electrons motion, it's fire power, thus becomes ENERGY LOCK lifeless gas molecules, and falls downward in real time, following it's electrons unlimited potential velocity, at the speed of light, connecting with the earth ENERGY CONSERVATION SYSTEM, establishing a downward falling path for trapped lifeless gas molecules /solid objects only. Equating the above fact with the physical universe, same as Einstein E = MC2 equates with the physical universe. E = ENERGY = MM = MOLECULE MOTION = Molecules in motion within star flames earth gases birds and balloons plains and rockets, even us humans rise from molecules in motion, creating an ENERGY FLOW, the ruling force of the universe. M = MASS = GB = GAS BONDING = Gas Binding take on a state of solid mass, blocking out it's electrons motion, it's fire power, thus becomes ENERGY LOCK lifeless gas molecules, and falls downward in real time. C2 = LIGHT SPEED = E = ELECTRONS = Electrons Unlimited Potential Velocity, at the speed of light, connects with the earth ENERGY CONSERVATION SYSTEM, establishing a downward falling path for trapped lifeless gas molecules/solid objects only. This they should've known ! It's only grade school science. Gravity is a mythical concept mentally applied with guaranteed result to it's point of origin, the BRAIN

Hiranya Peiris I want to believe. You were a wonderful story teller. Who need fairy tail when hundreds of thousand capable & highly paid by borrowed money spend their entire life to weave such elaborate tails for grown up children. Sadly once again same old conspired fictions regurgitated by capable sales person. I want to believe, but So far no intelligent persons not even the scientist have responded to my questions. What is structure of photon, electron, nuclei, and how do they interact with gravity?. What is heat, magnetic flux and gravity. Ignorant may consider these question irrelevant, but these are what you used in your lecture presenting conspired fiction as fact. MG1
