A short explanation of how I made my Aion LED Spellbook. I know Clerics cannot wear them but it was the only prop I could fit in my suitcase!
The circuit consist of digital RGB LED strips (44 LEDs in total) controlled with the Adafruit Trinket micro controller. I've run first test on an Arduino Uno. The power supply worked with the Adafruit Powerboost 500c, plus a 1200mhA Lipo battery. The book itself was made out of EVA foam (cosplayshop.be/..., Worbla and PVC pipes for the hinge.

hello i have always been a fan and applied all ur tutorials to my work on costume making for my competitions as im not a cosplayer......i have a question about those led lights....i want to buy them on ebay but they are 12 volts i like them flashing and moving like that.--....how can i incorporate them to my costume using just a battery so i can walk around with it, i tried looking online but cant find an answer thanks for inspiring

Das Programmieren. Hat der ARDUINO einen Befehl für das Pulsieren der Lichter? Oder nutzt du ein PWM signal, habe bisher nur Erfahrung mit nem PIC von Microchip.

Das ganze funktioniert mit der NeoPixel-Library von Adafruit. Ich glaube, sie generiert ein SoftPMW-Signal, da das Programm auf allen Pins funktioniert. :)

kamui cosplay i have a question. when you use arduino for the LED did place the arduino in the book or transferring the program to an attiny that compatible with arduino programming thx and sorry if there is a missspleled words

Question :D Why do you set in your gemstones before painting? I never worked with gems but don't they get dirty when you paint the whole thing?

Ah just a matter of taste. I've uploaded a few test videos of the circuit before and otherwise people would ask if something is missing. So I added the gemstone before the painting. :)

I am not sure when to use Eva foam or worbla? why did you not use foam? When do you use that or that?

+Instincts Just a piece of worbla under the pages where I out out the runes. So only the runes light up.

You can also just use regular EVA foam without Worbla on top but it will not be as sturdy.
