I hesitated on the snail essence for so long. But you convinced me to give it a whirl, and it was on Jolse for $12. Omg. It feels so divine on my dry angry winter face. You know when you try a new product and it’s like it immediately speaks fluently with your skin? That happens so rarely for me, but this one, wow. Yeah. So thank you for singing its praises. I appreciate your reviews so much. I didn’t think I would like it because of the snail and the texture, but over the last month I have been loving the COSRX Advanced Snail 92% All in one Cream. I have mature, pretty dry skin with rosacea. I think it is more of a hydrating gel, so I use additional moisturizer, like the COSRX Propolis Light Cream, on top of it; and I think my skin is looking and feeling so much better. You reviewed so many products I have been wanting to try, thank you for such well thought out reviews after trying the products over time, rather than just a couple of times.

My skin absolutely loves the snail essence. I am now on my 3rd bottle and it is one of those products I always need to have on my skincare shelf. And the bottle is big, affordable and really lasts for a long time. A little goes a long way. I usually do 2 pumps for face and 1 for neck. And you may be right in Cosrx being more for oily skin. Maybe that is why I tend to like almost all their products. The only products I do not like are the propolis ones that you likes so much for your dry skin :D They feel too heavy and moisturizing for me. The pimple patches I always have with several backups. I like how affordable they are and how well they work. I have tried some other brands, but they just did not work as well - not as sticky and not working that well.
@AliceintheRabbitHole2 жыл бұрын
Haha yup, I suspect the propolis line is much more appealing to dry skin. It’s amazing to me though that the snail line really seems to work for…everyone? (Those with snail allergies aside, of course). It’s very interesting!

Love cosrx so much! I have normal oilyish skin that is prone to acne and dehydration, flakes, sensitivity etc. It’s become very manageable and balanced since I added the propolis toner to my routine. I’m not sure what it is about it but I think it is slightly emollient and smooths my skin, especially the sensitive flaky parts and hydrates it to the point where my skin doesn’t produce so much oil. It’s amazing

I think the kbeauty approach through the tradition of medicinal natural ingredients as well as the korean market that is very competitive in a way that actually benefits customers in the quality and formulation of products (versus the mundane selection of american products that are usually very similar bar a scent or lack thereof in my experience unfortunately). My skin is in a wonderful state, and I'm glad you did this review so I have more products to check out! Hope youre staying safe and warm this winter

Same experience for me - and oh how I don’t miss the cystic acne. WHEW that was not fun (and gotta love all the “helpful” comments people offer…😒) But yep, Korean beauty as a whole has been a game changer. Yep yep yep, I’m pretty much in complete agreement. Every product I’ve ever tried has been so gentle and pleasant to use 🙂. Something I could see practically everyone using and enjoying, even if the moisturizing level isn’t high enough for dry skin folks. And with the active ingredients (probably) being low, the likelihood of adverse effects is reduced. I have a place for my SUPER X/Y/Z type products and also for these, which are the easy to throw on No-Makeup-Makeup types for skincare 🤓. As I mentioned in a past video, I think the cleanser does a good job removing light makeup. Somehow I still haven’t tried the snail cream but it’s on my wishlist! ✌🏽🤗 EDIT: oh and as I read through the comments I must also add… that I *also* don’t like plain water drying on my face. I have to put on something immediately after washing, whether an acid or toner. It might (probably 😆) be placebo effect or my crappy hard water quality but I just hate the feeling of my skin after plain water evaporates or is gently patted dry. Bleah.
@AliceintheRabbitHole2 жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely!! I wish they would disclose the percentages because I love ✨confirmation✨ (lol), but that’s three weeks of using the AHA toner daily without problems. I think it’s a low level, and honestly that’s a good thing for me personally! (Although Indie Lee/Brujita steal my heart for favorite toning mists) An easy to use brand is a really nice change of pace from the active-rich US brands!

This was such a thorough review and it made my day! 💕Crazy thing is that snail essence formula wasn’t juicy enough for me BUT THAT PROPOLIS toner is one of holy grails now! Now I gotta try those eye patches! Have you tried the good morning cleanser and the good night exfoliant? Do you think they work for dry skin sensitive with congestion?
@AliceintheRabbitHole2 жыл бұрын
The more I use the propolis toner, the more I love it too. That’s such a good sign LOL! I talked myself out of the low ph cleanser because it didn’t seem like it would offer more than my favorites already do. The good night is probably not going to offer much chemical exfoliation (although I appreciate that they did disclose the percentages there: 0.07% PHA - thanks for your honesty, corsx!) While that is low, that’s not always a bad thing: you’d still get a gentle physical exfoliation, and sometimes very low levels of exfoliation are exactly what suits a person’s needs!
@racheljackson31822 жыл бұрын
@@AliceintheRabbitHole oh thanks for answering! I still like to have dimethicone in the ingredients somewhere, to better lock-in my hydration, which this does have, unlike the essence. I'm going to get the essence one as well for my morning routine, for when I wear a sunscreen that has dimethicone in it, and then it doesn't have dimethicone, I'll use the Beauty of Joseon Red Bean Water before the sunscreen. Funny story! That AHA BHA C Toner actually convinced me that I just personally need to write off AHAs as a whole. Previous to this, I'd struck out with The Ordinary's 10% Lactic Acid and First Aid Beauty's 10% AHA. I gave Cosrx a go and...nooooope, not even as a once a week thing. I've been fine with BHA (both salicylic acid and betaine salicylate) as well as Vit C derivatives, so barring 3-for-3 coincidence, AHA was just not meant for me. But before the irritation set in, the ABC toner was very nice lol.

@@AliceintheRabbitHole the rebranding for Awake went pretty cutesy so it skews to a younger market. The lip mask healed a bunch of scaring and I have not had chapped lips in the 2+ years I have been using it (I usually chap so bad I bleed). I like their glow pill serum and oil gel night mask a lot. funny enough, i’m actually the complete opposite when it comes to lip products. i had to stop using the laneige lip sleeping mask AND their glowy balm because every time i used either one, my lips broke out and i broke out horribly with perioral dermatitis (i’m talking so intensely that it took weeks to go away, even with prescription ointment from my dermatologist). at first i didn’t know what was going on, so i did a serious intake of all of my lip products and realized that i was only breaking out after using things with fragrance. i don’t know what it is about my lips that are so sensitive, because my actual face is pretty resilient when it comes to things like fragrance or “drying” alcohols or even just actives in general, but all i know is that i haven’t had any more issues since cutting out fragranced lip products. i think it’s so interesting how different each individual person reacts to different ingredients in different ways! i’ve really been loving the biossance squalane + rose vegan lip balm. it actually has rose wax, not rose water or rose oil- so none of the fragrancing components of roses! it’s absolutely incredible. 11/10, definitely recommend. i’ve been wanting to try the cosrx lip mask for a while and i definitely think i’m going to with my next stylevana order!

Hi There, I have recently tried your all time Holy Grail product Cosrx Snail Essence, on initial application I love it ! It immediately hydrated and plumped the skin, however the next morning a cluster of pimples were around my forehead and a cystic pimple on my chin. I am in my 40's with combination skin and never break out, I am writing not to complain but to engage in constructive dialogue. You have dry/acne prone skin which is an odd combination, have you ever considered Cosrx Snail Essence could be the root cause of your acne?
@AliceintheRabbitHole2 жыл бұрын
So sorry to hear! That sounds like an allergic reaction unfortunately. “True” pimples typically take around a week to form, as they start in the hair follicle and work upward to the surface. whereas an allergic reaction can happen overnight and manifests as what looks like teeny tiny little pimples (and/or redness). Instead, it’s actually your immune system panicking over an ingredient that it has deemed an invader! Do you know if you’re allergic to dust mites and/or shellfish? Some people report cross-reactivity with that and snail mucin allergy

@@AliceintheRabbitHole Yes that makes perfect sense, I always know when a new product agrees with me or not in most cases by the next day with break out or rashes

Have you tried the hyaluronic acid cream? I agree with u that the snail all in one cream was not suited for my dry skin. But I do love the hyaluronic acid cream a lot, I have a lot of empties of that one. I’m not quite sure what is in the ingredient list but very hydrating!

I have half the products on your list of cosrx lol but I was wondering about the rice mask and eye gels . I love the peptide eye cream I mostly use it kinda like an eye serum and then use the algenist eye balm on top of it also sometimes I use the snail essence and add alittle of that RNW niacinamide serum and mix it instead of buying the snail power essence ..lol I have like 5 of those mini bottles of the RNW niacinamide serum lol I just don't know what to do with so I mix it cause I don't really use it by its self cause everything has niacinamide in it and I also use the Tiam B3 serum a few times a week it has the 10% nic and arbutin so I don't feel I need to use the separate niacinamide serum all the time. I never tried the BHA cause I'm stuck of the PC one. I love the propolis toner I need to get another one I have like a few uses left in my bottle another product that lasted forever like the snail essence. I just bought the Thank U Farmer rice toner can't wait to try that I also want their duo cream and kinda want the mask cleanser but wondering if it will be to dry because of the clay in it . The all in one cream I use alittle bit at night as like sleep mask girl how did u use that much already I had it like 6 months and not use that much
@AliceintheRabbitHole2 жыл бұрын
Stick with the PC I would say, unless you want to go with less chemical exfoliants (which admittedly isn’t a bad thing, just specific!) What’s your favorite of the RNW products so far? I decided to try them a bit later as I might pick up more and make a rounded out routine Oh yeah I was applying it multiple times a day I think - I genuinely thought I had forgotten moisturizer! But no, just not a perfect moisturizer for my dry skin LOL 😆

@@AliceintheRabbitHole yea it's a layer item more so the snail cream So far my favorite RNW product is the ceramide plus serum I have been threw like 4 or 5 of the mini bottles and almost a whole bottle and I bought a back up but I also like the adnoseine serum to I can do with out the other 3 the cleansing water is really nice to great ingredients list that's all I have tried so far but I want the ceramide mist and the essence I think it's called the shine essence also looks nice and good ingredients frangerance free and they have pimple patches and these swab nose things that look pretty cool kinda like the CNP nose pore thing that's like 30$ but the RNW is cheaper but I notice alot of their products have frangerance also so you got to look to see the ingredients to make sure u can handle it ad theirs no bergamot in it but they do have a mini set with the ceramide cream a toner face wash and something else for pretty cheap on Amazon u want to try alot at one time it's under the I'm unny shipper Wich is legit I have used them many times. Also their is a new RNW launch sister brand or a line of theirs that looks like it has some nice stuff called KTW.
@heathersargent2892 жыл бұрын
O also on Amazon right now they have the RNW ceramide plus serum onsale for 20$ ships the 1/ 23 but probably before and it's threw I'm unny a legit seller I have used several times it's the cheapest I have found it on the K beauty sites or ever on Amazon. It's worth getting the big one I'll like and it's usually like 35$ and takes awhile to ship that's how much I paid for my first large bottle. But they also have alot of the RNW and the new KTW

Very helpful video and I am excited to try this brand tbh! As sounds great and I found Corsx here locally, I was so surprised to see it at Superstore! Items from $20 to $30 for the snail essence and moisturizer I wanted to try (they were out of stock however, thinking it is popular or maybe new to Superstore. hmmm). I see Corsx at Winners/Marshalls for even better prices but not the snail products yet. I hear they are great those snail products and getting over the "snail" part now (lol), plus still good for more mature skin like me I think. Thank you!

I have; I bought the propolis sampler a while back. The toner is what I stuck with, but I did enjoy the cream! It’s tough for moisturizers to become HG for me though as I’ve tried…oh gosh. It has to be hundreds. 🙈

Ooh great question! I cleaned it out with isopropyl alcohol and let it dry off completely (while wishing I had access to lab equipment at the moment lol. Would have really sped that up!)

Get a humidifier for your bedroom at night. My husband's thumb would split during the dry winter and a humidifier at night is the only thing that heals it and keeps it from happening again.
@AliceintheRabbitHole2 жыл бұрын
I probably need to do this. Funny story: we own a dehumidifier lol; the opposite of what we need! It was a must have in New Orleans - I’m noticing that somehow, even though we are close to the LITERAL BEACH here…it’s not as humid. Climate differences are confusing. 😳

@@AliceintheRabbitHole i live in Iowa and own and use both. The humidifier also helps with dry scalp and skin during the winter. It really makes a huge difference.

I’ve tried a bunch of cosrx products over the years. I tried to love this brand but i’ve only had underwhelming results. The aloe sun cream was so uncomfortable to wear with it’s greasy texture and heavy fragrance. The propolis toner clogs my pores and the low ph face wash was extremely drying. I had to chuck out or give away all of my purchases from cosrx sadly.

Do you think that the snail essence can have a purging period for some people? I seem to have some quickly appearing and disappearing, watery whiteheads and that’s not typical for me.
@AliceintheRabbitHole2 жыл бұрын
Hmmmm. There’s a slim chance based on the components of snail mucin. Your description actually sounds more like allergy to me (are they closely packed together little bumps?)
@fitriaandini91912 жыл бұрын
The snails essence is really not for my dry skin type. It doesn’t hydrating at all. It makes myskin flaky and greasy but the moisturizer snails one kinda not that bad.

Willow bark water may -- MAY -- have anti-inflammatory properties, but it is in no way a substitute or even weak analog for salicylic acid. It is not an exfoliating acid and has different chemical properties.
@AliceintheRabbitHole2 жыл бұрын
I’d say it does have anti-inflammatory properties, but the problem comes down to how much activity vs how much of that ingredient appears in a product. It’s kind of a running problem right now in general (just talked about something similar with the Inkey List - their fulvic acid cleanser doesn’t contain fulvic acid, but relies on a “natural” source of fulvic acid. Is that going to give the same benefit??)

Cosrx is a starter brand for most people. I remember using most of their products back in 2020 when I first got into K Beauty, but I no longer use them after discovering the hundreds of other KB products and brands out there, so much to try.
@AliceintheRabbitHole Жыл бұрын
Yeah that’s generally how I feel too. I think they’re trying to fight that mentality with their newest serum collection (vitamin c, retinol, etc!) But they do feel very “intro to k-beauty”!
