Using kg and tonnes doesn't help your viewers except those into export. We use bags (sacks) to measure farm produce in ghana.

Yeah, you absolutely have to factor in irrigation cost if the need be. I simply did not include it here because it is not applied always. Unless in the dry seasons or extreme conditions, maize will do just fine in Ghana without irrigation.
