Tess, my daughter has began to call my house, her personal grocery store😮😂... I have just been fortunate enough to start receiving food stamps through my son that's disabled that lives with me. With both of us being in really bad heath we don't get much but I shop very carefully. It still takes a lot out of my pocket every month to feed him, help my single daughter and her three teens next door. 😢 Lord willing I'll find a store near me that has discount soon. Some of our 5 kids “shop at the mom store “ too. I’m glad to help, glad I Can help. They laughed at me for years…at my store room in the basement. Now, it might be one of their fav places. Mom store indeed. 👍🥰 I’ve told them…it’s their job to create their own In the house- back up storeroom for their broods. In addition to the shopping, new interests are developing…within the current economics, I’ve helpers for gardening and food preservation. 🎉👌. Seems my eccentricity has become foresight and wisdom. 😎

After getting out of the hospital last week my insurance is paying for in home help from a friend and me in a wheelchair and her being able bodied 🙂 have cleaned out the pantry to make sure what food I have is being eaten. Dislike wasting food, because whenever I have tossed food in the past all I saw was $ signs. Food prices are pretty steady where we are at, its the gas that in one month went from $4.30 a gallon for regular to $5.10 that has people wincing. 😕

That was a neat idea for the TP. All the sale ads came out today and there was nothing there that could have been considered a deal. Everything is at least seventy five cents to one fifty higher than it was last year.I'm glad my freezers and pantry are full.

Tessie the groceries are getting so outrageous, it pays to shop around for discounts. I love wrapping rolls of toilet paper, especially around the holidays and place in a basket. I use tissue paper works perfectly and I especially like the printed tissue paper, and of course the solids colors are pretty too.❤

My daughter has come to me humbly and said we need help this month. She knows I can lots of jellies, vegetables, relishes, and tomatoes. She is always welcome to come get what she needs. We plant a big garden as well as having chickens. I supply her with eggs every other weekend. Her oldest is grown and him and his fiance use them. His brother my daughters 2nd son is living there because it is closer to his job, and that is the only thing he can cook.

Hi, Tessie. Food prices are out of control. Those were amazing deals you found; my husband was watching with me and said our local store sells those burgers for $12-15. Also, as soon as he saw how you wrapped the toilet paper in a cute napkin, he said he knew he'd come home one day to find I'd done the same. lol Having things displayed in our homes that belonged to our loved ones or were special gifts from loved ones definitely helps them to feel close. I completely understand that and have many items around my home for just that reason. Blessings to you and your family! ☺

Tessie, I have to say my cost every week is in the hundred dollar range even with sales so I try to limit what I et for us each week and use up left overs I like that idea of wrapping up toilet paper with decorative paper looks pretty I eat lots of fruit's and salads and not much sweet things :-) Love you my Sister :-) God Bless You and Ken :-)

Right before covid when our income was much higher, I would visit one of those discount stores that lower their price as the week goes on. I bought lots of fancy coffee ground and beans for $2 a package! I vacuum sealed it and am so grateful for it. I miss that store and the income I had lol But watching you helps me keep a good attitude! So many things I bought on a whim at that store have proven so valuable at our new homestead! Thanks to God!

I cherish the few things I have left that belonged to my parents after we had a house fire and lost about 90 per cent of our stuff. But most of what I miss are our photos. I miss them so much. I enjoyed this video!!!

I admire all your patch work quilts Tessie I made some for my daughter's when they were teanagers . Not intricate, just machine made. They cherished them just the same. Thinking ahead and saving for a rainy day is not hoarding I don't decorate much nor do I like housework but boy am I glad that I think ahead with food, clothing etc because food and fuel especially is very expensive here in England 🇬🇧 also. I have some things of my parents, I cherish my parents memories so much. My sister and my brother purchased my parents home place along with their belongings inside the house from my other sisters and we go every weekend for a meal and fellowship. I believe my parents would be so pleased with that. We are all well in years now and realize it’s time together that is more valuable than the money we could have gotten from the stuff had we sold it to the highest bidder.

Hi Tessie. Just wanted to explain hoarding a bit clearer as it is not about not caring for items and throwing them in a corner or cupboard. Hoarding is described as- A persistent difficulty discarding or parting with possessions because of a perceived need to save them. It is often associated with mental health issues and there is often real trauma around "getting rid of" a hoard. You are definitely not a hoarder 😊 your pantry is being used and you have the ability to cull when needed. Hopefully this helps you a little and puts your mind at ease. Hopefully noone was so rude as to call you a hoarder or similar and upset you. ❤ I think you're very smart to have built your little "grocery" store where you're able to provide for hubby and your family. It is obviously a Godsend in these times.🇦🇺

Canning beans makes them easily accessible when cooking also in a downgride situation when you wouldn't have as much water this way the beans are already cooked and they're ready to eat you wouldn't have to soak them in water and use maybe resources that would be scarce

I know we will make till Jesus comes but boy things are bad and getting worse. We eat hamburger for our red meat and we buy chicken and fish but we're still doing better than so many in other countries. Im grateful we can get food period.
