I stayed there for 15 days last June. Its an amazing place haven't been to other places and cities of Vietnam but Da Nang for sure is my favorite. You haven't been to Go (big C) supermarket try to eat at their food court. Plenty of variety of foods and super cheap but quality.

hi janine i visited vietnam 1 week a go and it was my best decision in my life. it's my first time as a solo traveler and i am just 19 years olds. Btw the local help me a lot and they are really" nice , literally the most kind hearted people i've ever met. Some uncle buy me a free ticket and the coffee lady give me free tea. i was so happy. The city is also clean and very beautiful, the beach is such a vibes and the food was amazing omg and they're really cheap too ,def come back later ❤. if i have the money maybe i'll move there

@@fansmilitan2701 There are more pickpockets in Paris , New York , Los Angeles , Marseille , Lyon , Amsterdam , Rotterdam , Rome , Milan , Venice , Napoli , Madrid , Barcelona , London , Split ...than in Danang . A few years ago my Iphone was stolen in Rome and my wife's purse had disappeared in 5 minutes ( the time she went to the washroom ) in a coffee shop in Barcelona . In 1988 three guys tried to steal my suitcase at the Amsterdam train station ( one threw some Ketchup on my coat , another one showed up pretending to help me to clean up the smear to divert my attention and a third one came up close to me and tried to steal my suitcase . Luckily I held it firmly in my hand so he didn't succeed to take it ) . In 2018 one guy and one girl tried to pickpocket my wallet at the Metro du Louvre in Paris . And recently two colored men threatened me in NYC with a knife at only 20h00 to rob of my new Samsung mobile phone . And so far I didn't have any bad experiences in Danang .

It has made me think of new places to go in the next few months while in Da Nang. Can I suggest you try Hoi An has the videos from there especially on a night would be amazing. I went last week. Gotta go back to retrive my shoes i left again. Silly me but anazing place so another 5 days there will be fine. They have ppl avoid swimming in certain areas because there are rip tides in the water, which carry/push you out to sea. You need to swim parallel to the beach, instead of trying to swim direct into shore, you have to swim parallel to the beach to get out of rip tide.

This was so fun! We were in DaNang in April and loved it! We want to retire there in a few years. The grocery stores in other countries fascinate me, esp in the US where it's a chemical free for all. There are so many things the Vietnamese gov't doesn't let in because of the chemicals. We loved the fresh food. The only problem we had was that to get vegan and meat at the same place is hard so we would often watch each other eat in different places. Can't wait to see the rest of your content!

That’s what I’ve concluded when I was traveling in SE Asia as well. I thought Vietnam was the cheapest out of all the places I had visited. I did not visit Laos, so I wasn’t able to include that country. I thought Cambodia was ok but there were soooo many businesses and huge casinos and 8-10 story buildings made by the Chinese. It felt like majority of the ppl were Chinese in Cambodia. My favorite was Vietnam and Thailand. Vietnam was cheaper than Thailand. Malaysia, Cambodia, Singapore for sure, and cheaper than Bali as well.

Riptides .. are likely the reason you can swim in some areas but not others. I was just in Da Nang for one month. Great little community. I was disappointed by the trash on the beach and in the water, but I blame China and the America for being the biggest polluters. I wonder if some times in the year the trash is less bad as during other times. Not sure. Nice video. Brings back good memories. Thanks. :)

Usually swimming areas are blocked off in an open beach is because a life guard (or group of life guards) can only see so far and can control an area.. Its hard to support an entire beach of swimmers with limited amount of life guards on duty.. so they block off an area specifically to allow for swimmers and support people potentially from drowning because it will be visible to all the life guards on duty!

Hi Janine I’m a new subscriber. You mentioned that you were confused about the money. Why didn’t you use the currency converter on your cellphone? Also, you should have used the language translator on Google. It’s very easy and you could use the audio to hear the correct pronunciation. Be safe on your travels, especially when taking shortcuts in places where you are not familiar.
