2nd one is also good for a family or 4 students can share the rent and can save the money and can have a huge place for them as well. Last 1 bed apartment is also good for a couple or single person since all the amenities are there!! Loved your video sis I never thought that melbo is so beautiful, And now I saw it with the help of your camera lens!! I have found in many cases it is actually cheaper to pay off a mortgage than it is to rent. I was paying roughly $500 per week with a mortgage, while renting can be anything between $600 - $1000 per week in some area's.
@livingsimplyaustralia2 жыл бұрын
100% (although you need enough savings for the deposit first), but yes, completely agree. My current mortgage is half of what I was paying in rent a few years ago. The issue is that for newly arrived migrants in Australia a mortgage is not accessible at that stage.
@theghost64122 жыл бұрын
@@livingsimplyaustralia I think there are ways for migrants to get help in getting their foot in the door when buying a house and getting a mortgage, that is not accessible for other australians. The rates might even be better too. But I am not very well versed in those ways. I spent a good number of years in England and only just returned home in the last few months. But i had everything waiting for me on arrival. House i was renting out before while abroad to pay its mortgage, I moved back into. Thankfully i always had good tenents and they always looked after the place.

I'm paying $300 per week in Bundaberg QLD for a small two bedroom duplex unit that was built in 1989. some units are even more and average house rents are $550 and upwards a week, there is a rental crises here which isn't helping with driving up prices due to a housing shortage.

Love u videos ❤ showing Melbourne for what it is 😍 Ohhhh how I miss living close to the city! I lived in Southbank when I first came here for 6 months (super $$$$) but then I moved to Kensington where I stayed for 9 years - closeby but sooooooo much cheaper than the inner /inner east (like south yarra even) I had a HUGE 2 bedroom 2 bathroom NEW apartment for $450 pw (also they never once increased the rent!) I live way out in the suburbs now I am married and we built a house ect but if I was younger and single, choosing from what u have shown, I would go for South Yarra or close to the VIC markets 😍 (so close to my old work on Errol street!)

It might be hard to believe, but I’d like to give you all a comparison. I bought a new 3 level home in Japan, the house is high on a hill so I have a great view of the city under me. I can see all the way to the mountain ranges. My mortgage is $813 AUD per month. Japan has a reputation for being expensive, but it really isn’t.

might need to add which city and ease of public transport, amenities around the place etc, but wow a 3 level home for that price is crazy nonetheless. Congratulation

@@EriX88888 I’m originally from Argentina, I moved to Australia when I was 10. I became a school teacher and have been working at American and British international schools in Japan. Renting and buying costs about the same, when it comes to monthly payments. So I thought, why pay someone else’s mortgage, might as well pay my own. I’m actually going back to OZ this April, I have decided to retire in my current profession and seek a new one. I’m no where near retirement age to get a pension, just needed a change.

Hi! Thanks for your question. Highly recommend booking an airbnb for your first 3-4 weeks, and then using that time to go to inspections and see the properties in person. This is for a range of reasons, but mainly because if you're not here it's unlikely real estate agents will rent the apartment to you without having seen it first (and if they do, you should be extremely mindful of scams). Either way, I don't recommend renting without having inspected the property first. Hope this is of some help :)
