I'm renting in Bundaberg QLD and my rent has gone up $50 per week within the last year and that is for a small unit which is now $300 per week. cost of living all round has gone up including petrol and groceries, there is also a housing rental shortage with many people here not being able to find somewhere to live and are being forced to live in there cars and tents.

I lived in in Melbourne Australia in the 1980's. The living costs were easy. Living in Carlton I paid $300 a MONTH. That would buy you 5 days for $300 now. Australia is now nothing but stress. I suggest anyone considering living there to reconsider.

Am not an economist ( lay person) .Seeing the issue of rising costs from a different angle. How much did we actually contribute towards rising inflation. During COVID 19, people bought properties they possibly could not afford or would not be able to afford in the near future accounting for some of the increasing inflation rate. This likely just created billions of dollars out of thin air, and pushed inflation up. Now we are all dealing with revenge of the RBA but really they are only equating things out. Inflated economies' currencies hold no weight internationally ( we dont appear to hold concern about this) .

Hi, is it wise to live in a share house on flatmates ? Because of a high level of illegal sublease where the head tenant often asks the sub-letters to hide in their rooms when the owners come and other sketchy stuff.

Hi! We are planning to migrate their by 2025 or 2026 at the latest. We are recently working and living here in Germany. Making researches, yes we earn more in AUS but upon watching the rental costs/expenses for a family with 2 kids, I am having 2nd thoughts if our salary as nurses will be enough to sustain our needs in AUS.

I did this exact thing last night. I looked in Melbourne and I was shocked at how terrible the houses were for around 500 a week. Is that normal?.
@livingsimplyaustralia2 жыл бұрын
It definitely depends on the area. If you're looking at Melbourne CBD, it's mainly apartments (the few houses available will be terrible or expensive). But if you look in the suburbs (check out east) you might be able to find nice houses for around that price (or a bit more). For a 2bed 3bed house, you're looking a bit higher than $500 pw.
@xkimopye2 жыл бұрын
I didn’t realise you could get anything for under $500 a week
