Thanks for the video and info. Last year, I lived in the Jomtien area for 6 months and my monthly budget was $3K and that's with companionship with a regular Thai lady for 3x a week without buying any LDs and barfines. I did not eat any western food due way more expensive and been eating Thai food in the market. In my early 50's now, I was planning to retire but I changed my mind in the very last second and back to work again in CA, started from scratch. Will do this again, next year.

I am back in Bangkok this Thursday 16th May, staying in Thailand for a month this time specifically to find an area/condo to live in as I return in September to live. Just retired (yes, I am old) and have been planning this for some time. Your budget interested me as I’ve budgeted for 135,000 Baht per month to cover my living costs. Looks like I might be overshooting 😂

Great video Sam! Especially For someone looking into a possible move to BK. One thing I missed in you video; how about insurances? I’m sure there’s health insurance? Any others like insurance for your property? Liability insurance? Would be great if you could share some insights on that.

Great video. I was thinking of moving to Bangkok for a short while to give it a try, maybe 6 months to start. I will have a net income of around 125000-150,000 baht a month. On that kind of budget will i have to think much about my budget or can i spend quite freely? I am not into luxury goods, I am not a drinker or a smoker. Thanks!
@Sam_tyler_

6 months is a great start to get a feel for it and see how you like it, you’ll definitely be able to spend quite freely especially as you’re not into luxury things (same as me haha) and you don’t drink too so that helps 👍🏻

That's a good one 👏 people usually don't think about all of those things and the worst part is when suddenly the lamp breaks at the exactly month than the microwave, TV... Or buy new towels, sheets, bed... In the end I think more siriously to live in Thailand like him, but in a hotel all included (even toilet paper)

If need 100,000 baht per month adjusted for inflation you need £866,000 invested. If you need 200,000 baht per month adjusted for inflation you need £1,732,000 invested. This assumes that you want your money to last 30+ years. This assumes that someone wants to retire early and live on passive income.

- nice video editing; - British English accent 👎 for me; - while most Thai people live on 10 000- 15 000 baht / month salary 😊; - I spent 15 000 - 20 000 baht / month when I worked in Bangkok + my company paid for apartment 15 000 baht, sim card and some travel expenses when I inspected hotels around Thailand.

I get that you're being really careful with your money, but sometimes it's worth spending a bit more to truly enjoy life. It's not just about existing, but living and making memories. If I spent 15k-20k baht a month I would be constantly be penny pinching
