my mate had a similar "milk" to that and he spilt it on his coffee table, when he went to clean it up he also wiped off the varnish off the table..I was there

Hey Kevin, a big thank you for this upload. I'm a final year Physics major from the UK. This is the first video I've found with a sense of someone who has shopped around and made a logical decision. Most people seem afraid of living beyond the immediacy of the inner city and pay a premium for it. Unsurprisingly as it's still comparatively cheap compared to UK US etcetera.

Very informative video, thanks! We have spend some time in Smaller though very beautiful city called Yangshuo and also summarised it up. Seems like smaller towns are cheaper to live in and have a bigger variety of fresh food.

This is a useful informative video for someone thinking of moving to Bejing. Those hand size walnut milk packages are $.35. That's not cheap relative to a gal of milk being $3.25 to $3.70 in America. I'm surprised they don't even sell milk in volume, but in a box full of packages..seems over packaged.

Your best bet is to contact a teacher who is at the school you are interested in and talk to them. Every city has a different pay rate and cost of living and cultural experience. I am in Shanxi Province and we're always hiring... just do your homework before you go and you should be fine, I came with my daughter.,.

Finding an apartment in BJ for 3000 RMB per month is not possible anymore in 2018... Depending on the location and the quality of your apartment you will have to pay at least 4200 for a one bedroom apt and at least 6000 for a 2 bedroom apt
@tobiasburmester25566 жыл бұрын
dominic k The market in China is completely different from markets in Europe. However, I agree with you, if you live outside the 5th ring there might be some cheaper apartments, but if you want access to the metro and want to be in the city centre in a reasonable time, you will have to pay more.
@otakukj6 жыл бұрын
Tobias Burmester I can assure you what he said is true. I used to live in yizhuang also I paid 2700 per month for a 63 square meter apartment. Yea it's far from downtown but it's possible, that's the point

depends what you compare it to... Probably compare it to a 50k a year job here with the same size apartment the guy has there.

hey there. I got a job offer to work in Harbin, they offer me 4000RMB/month. is that enough to pay the rent and everything?
@goodteachersunion57378 жыл бұрын
Hi Marcos, Harbin has lower salaries and cost of living than places like Beijing and Shanghai. However, 4000 a month is pretty low. If they are offering to pay for your rent, 4000 a month is plenty for food and etc (although you won't have tons left over). If they're not covering rent, you should ask for more. If you're looking for higher paying jobs, contact Sophia at sophia@goodteachersunion.org!

Oh wow, I'm so glad I stumbled across your video! I'm really wanting to find a job in China but I'm way too scared to apply through most websites as they just don't seem legitimate. I don't want to turn up to China and I'm being kidnapped or something. I'm curious about one thing! Including housing, utilities and food, it seems like it's less than 5000RMB per month? Am I correct in thinking that?

It would depend where you are living and who your contract is with. The school pays most of my expenses, I only have my cellphone and electricity (115¥ per month for both) the rest is covered. When I came, I bought a return ticket just in case... lol FYI a year later, my family is still in contact with me and I'm still alive lol

@goodteachersunion57378 жыл бұрын
Usually you can always find an apartment near your working place. Most cities in China have excellent public transportation to get you places fast and cheap.

jessie yang shanghai is actually ranked higher on cost of living then Beijing. Beijing has less expatriates thus making housing a tad cheaper.
