Chris, the numbers does not add up especially when it come to rent. The rent figure provided is about 70% below average. My wife is looking for a single bed room apartment in Langford and the average is $1,750. I don’t know when your data was updated but I believe it’s a very long time

I appreciate the feedback, and certainly the numbers seemed low to me as well, but I also haven’t looked at renting a room in some time. I just double checked the website and the numbers are different then when I recorded this video a few weeks ago. Not sure when the website updated but the rent portion did increase. I think also the slide that I break down each portion isn’t reflective of what I was saying. I’ll see how complicated it is to change out that slide. The new gross average including rent for a single person is sitting at $2094 now vs $1679 at the time I recorded this and without rent that jumped from $685 to $779 and rent and utilities itself is sitting at $1315.

Your numbers are still way off. Not sure what site you’re using but a simple search will show even a crummy bachelor is over $1300-1500+ per month and it’s been that way since the pandemic started.

If you are looking to buy you can expect an entry level one bed condo to start in the low 300’s like this one m.prspcts.co/9i4uM1eVXh12kfa96 And go all the way up to 800,000 depending on location and finishing. If you are looking to rent something I’d estimate the current $ for an entry level one bedroom apartment would start at 1500/month and go up from there.
