Hi, thanks for your video! I do have some additional comments: 1. Most ( 75% ) families in NL have double income. So both man and wife have a job, but the number of hours differ. Many people have part time jobs. From tax viewpoint, it is beneficial to have double income. 2. At (very) low income levels, you are eligible for medical and rent subsidy ( toeslagen ). You are advised to contact a professional counselor for this. 3. In a larger city, you might do without a car, and use bikes or public transport. However, living further away from facilities, a car quickly becomes a necessity. Driving a cheap car including tax, fuel, insurance and write off is between €300 and €600 a month. Making ends meet at €2000,-. net a month with a family is very tough. It is possible if you fully own your accommodation. Just shopping for bargains in shops will not do the trick.
