I don't live in Raleigh, but one addition that viewers might find helpful is that the Raleigh-Durham area has a decent number of co-op grocery stores, something that's fairly hard to find in major southern cities. My husband has a ton of food allergies, and we were spoiled by the prevalence of co-ops in Minneapolis-St. Paul. Anyone living with major food allergies or seeking more organic and/or locally grown options on a budget may want to check out Raleigh. In our experience, we always had much better meat/produce options and generally lower prices at co-ops vs. Whole Foods.

Yes! I was shocked when we got our first bill. I only spend about $30-$40/month charging my car at home.
