This was very useful information. I appreciate the amount of detail you provided in your breakdown, incl. the context. This made it much, much easier for me to do an item-by-item, apples-to-apples comparison of your numbers with my own projected budget. Far too many vloggers throw out a single, all-inclusive number for their monthly cost-of-living, without any breakdown/context whatsoever, which is essentially useless. Thank you very much for sharing! :)

Cost of living in Thailand is such a broad topic. It is different for everyone, it all depends on your age, your health, your interests, which part in Thailand you live, your social life, how much you travel just to name a few. What you and so many other youtubers post may apply for you, but does not necessarily apply for everybody else.

You can get a nice Condo out of the city for $250-300. The street market food is much cheaper. Or the mom and pop location. Plus gyms are normally in every building. Plus a pool.

thank you for your video and the information; i am staying in kl for 18 mths now and wanted to move to BKK and after seeing couple of videos talking about the rent in thailand, i realise it is more expensive to live in thailand. In kl, I stay in the golden triangle in an airbnb with 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms (900sqfeet) with free internet/netflix, no need paying electricity: cost 750USD/mth. conditions of living in malaysia are pretty good and not sure, i want to go and live in a small studio in bkk :( : it will be a downgrade!!
@ubolubol597215 күн бұрын
You must live in the suburbs and near the train station. The rent will be reduced by almost half. But the surrounding amenities have not decreased. 😊
@andreandree438415 күн бұрын
@@ubolubol5972 thank you. Coming from KL, it will be definitely a downgrade living in bkk and eating isnot cheap either unless you eat the street food everyday :( ... and i dont mention the heavy traffic that plague bkk unless one only stays in the suburbs and goes to town from time to time.

Great video and effort. Me too from SG but in Hatyai in my own condo. For my water problem, I got a Cleansui from Mitsubishi and it is pretty clean when Thai water passed thru it. I was using a distiller previously and I used it to verify the filter quality. It's not that expensive either as I'm using the direct tap faucet version. You may want to check it out.

I guess the airbnb rent is higher cos its short term stay..if not in the Expat heavy area..long term rentals should be between 13,000-20,000 thb.

The length of stay definitely makes a big difference, I also noticed expat heavy areas have more studio unit offerings too so those are slightly cheaper too!

Thonglor Dental Hospital, mostly expats and well off Thais, better than any dentist office in the US. Prices are on the website, which is common, so google too.

I noticed that your Cost of Food accounts for only 12 meals per week (5 cook at home, 5 grab delivery, and 2 going out). If you eat breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, you should be eating 21 meals per week. Are you actually skipping that many meals? If so, it is not good for your health... lol. :) I also noticed that you are assuming 4 weeks per month, in your calculations. It would be more accurate to assume 4-1/3 (4.3333) weeks per month, since there are 52 weeks per year, or 13 weeks per quarter.
@NyenGao16 күн бұрын
Hello! I didn't notice until you did the calculations. I do skip some meals and sometimes I spilt my meals up to 2 meals since it's too much for 1 person (like when I cook or order grab) > important piece of info I forgot to mention. Thanks for pointing out:)
