USA is really big so it depends where you want to travel. If you want to see big cities, modern life then New York, CHicago, San Francisco, etc. Beaches then Miami, Hawaii, etc. Mountains then Denver, Colorado springs, Mt. Rushmore, and the list goes on. Cost is also dependent on the area but one thing is for sure that airbnb's are cheaper and safer here so you can save a lot while travelling by booking those.

Tech in US may save post these expenses as enumerated by you? Then one can estimate whether going abroad is better from financial point of view or not.
