In this video, we take a deep dive into the cost of living in Warsaw, Poland, one of the most vibrant and fascinating cities in Europe. Whether you're planning on moving to Warsaw or just curious about the cost of living in Poland, we've got you covered.
So, let's start with housing. The cost of housing in Warsaw can vary depending on the neighborhood, but the average rent for a one-bedroom apartment is around 1,800 PLN ($460 USD) per month. If you're looking for something larger, expect to pay around 3,000 PLN ($770 USD) per month. Buying a house in Warsaw is also an option, but can be quite expensive, with prices ranging from 8,000 to 12,000 PLN ($2,050 to $3,070 USD) per square meter.
Moving on to food, Warsaw has plenty of options for all budgets. If you're on a tight budget, you can expect to spend around 20-30 PLN ($5-$8 USD) per meal at a cheap restaurant or fast food chain. If you're looking for something more upscale, expect to spend around 100-200 PLN ($25-$50 USD) per meal at a fancy restaurant. Groceries in Warsaw are also affordable, with a liter of milk costing around 2 PLN ($0.50 USD) and a loaf of bread around 3 PLN ($0.75 USD).
Transportation in Warsaw is efficient and affordable, with a one-way ticket on public transport costing around 4.40 PLN ($1.10 USD). If you're planning on using public transport frequently, it's worth purchasing a monthly pass, which costs around 110 PLN ($28 USD). Taxis in Warsaw are also relatively cheap, with a typical fare costing around 25-30 PLN ($6-$8 USD) for a short ride.
Healthcare in Poland is generally of a high standard, with plenty of public and private healthcare facilities available in Warsaw. If you're employed, you'll be covered by the Polish social security system, which means you'll have access to free or heavily subsidized healthcare. If you're self-employed or not covered by the social security system, it's worth purchasing private health insurance, which can cost anywhere from 100-500 PLN ($25-$130 USD) per month.
Taxes in Poland are progressive, with the tax rate ranging from 17% to 32%. If you're employed, your employer will deduct taxes from your paycheck. If you're self-employed, you'll need to file your taxes annually and pay the required amount.
If you're a parent, childcare in Warsaw can be affordable and of a high quality. Daycare centers in Warsaw are subsidized by the government, with fees ranging from 300-900 PLN ($77-$230 USD) per month, depending on your income. Private daycare centers are also available, but can be more expensive, with fees ranging from 1,000-2,000 PLN ($260-$510 USD) per month.
Finally, let's talk about education. Poland has a highly developed education system, with plenty of public and private schools available in Warsaw. Public schools in Warsaw are free, but you may need to pay for textbooks and other materials. Private schools in Warsaw are also available, with fees ranging from 1,500-5,000 PLN ($385-$1,280 USD) per month.
Overall, the cost of living in Warsaw is affordable and reasonable, especially when compared to other European cities. Warsaw offers a great quality of life, with plenty of cultural attractions, a rich history, and a thriving business scene. Sorry but it's not true. The average price of rent in Warsaw or Krakow is around 3.5k - 4k PLN for a small apartment and the average price is about 20k for a square metre (in the centre), it can go down to about 10-12k but that would be very far from the centre

Wow! That's surprising. I recently visited Warsaw and the people I had talked to there didn't share this sentiment. Would you mind sharing a link to a real estate listing site where you're seeing these prices? I'm sure our viewers would love to get more information on this. 🙂

Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment! 😃 Citizens of the United Arab Emirates should be able to acquire a tourist visa to visit Poland. Are there specific details about your situation that prevent that from being the case?
