Latvia is it really nice place to live with a uniquely enjoyable culture the people there are very kind and welcoming it's not too expensive it's actually fairly priced place to live I am immigrated there from the United States in 2014 I live in Riga Latvia and it is one of the cheapest and most enjoyable capital cities of any country I've ever been to or live in but the whole country there is a lot of beauty and their unique culture and history and cheap housing that is still nice and the people are welcoming all over the country to everyone they were very welcoming to me and I have learned a lot from living in love you versus living in a western country like the United States

I live in the countryside (village) in Serbia and have bought a nearly new House for mentioned pricelevel(400/m), but the truth is that you here you can find older houses in good standard for much less, like $100-200-300/m. In all Eastern European countries except Slovenia, you can find an older apartment or house for about 1000 euros / m2 in towns. Portugal is the poorest in Western Europe, it is the cheapest there. In addition to the cost of purchase, one should inquire well about monthly bills, taxes, food prices .... There is a huge difference from country to country. The smartest thing is to take a car rental and travel around Europe, and see where you like the lifestyle and mentality of the people the most.

The average price per m² in Slovakia is 2600€ (in Bratislava even more, 3500€/m²) so good luck finding anything for 1000€/m², Czech Republic is the same. I'm not sure about Poland, but I'd say the prices are pretty similar to CZ/SK. You mentioned that the whole region is "cheap" except Slovenia...property prices in Slovenia are the same as in Slovakia and other countries in the region, so I guess you didn't do much research before making such statement.

Few km near me they 10y.a. sells luxury apartments for 10 000 to 12000 euros/m2. Not in town,but near the beach in Istria.

Romania is a pretty strong option. Buying a house in Romania is not only great because of the bio-diversity and so many different landforms but it would be a clever investment given it's fast growing economy. I do think Bucharest is pretty good if is business you're after

Ukraine is the best option. It’s major cities are modern, accessible and cost of living is cheap. Smart foreign investors are already buying up and the real estate market is adjusting to cater for their needs. All you need is a good local solicitor and you’re good to go.

I thing a city like Târgu Secuiesc is absolutely beautiful, but not being a citizen of the EU, gaining citizenship in Romania is a nightmare. Also in some cities like Târgu Secuiesc most people actually speak Hungarian which is a very hard language to master. In Bulgaria, you not only need to learn Bulgarian but the cyrillic writing system. Still, areas like the Black Sea coast are absolutely beautiful.

The reason one in Sicily or in italy you can find houses for 1 euro it s not connected with Mafia or criminality ( in italy by the way is one of country with less crimes in europe according the stastiistic that don't follow stuoid stereotypes) but to avoid the problem of ghost towns recently very commun. We are talking abandoin villagges far away from business located in remote areas often at top.of mountains so the local municipality offer the possibility to offer the proprity for one 1 euro if you garantee to move with family there and make an investiment refurneshing the houses. CNN, bbc and other networks often talk about this form of interesting and inusual investiment that you can find in itally but this video has forgotten to mention it

You did pronounce Sofia almost acurately except it is not Soufia just Sofia. You did however put the stress on the correct form like SO-fia, when foreigners tend to put it on I which makes me laugh as Bulgarian because Sofia as the stress goes to I refers to the female name Sofia. However you kinda messed up in the pronunciation of Veliko Tarnovo. The stress for this one is on I not on O. Also Tarnovo is pronounced like T-uh-r-novo. Also the accent is on the hard A known as UH in this case. And it should be VeLIko TUHR-novo. But other than these small errors nice video.

As mentioned, i didn't find Kiev that inexpensive but I lived in an area near the river and close to the center. And also as mentioned, Belgrade is not that inexpensive but I used Air BnB. When I was in Iraq a KBR contractor I met was getting ready to retire to France, where she owned a house with vineyard. A neighbor had contracted with her after she bought it, they take care of the vines and pick the grapes each year, then add several crates of wine to her wine cellar as well as the money they pay her…. She owns vineyards, drinks wine from her property, doesn’t have to lift a finger.

You should not get the D7, the D7 is for non-EU citizens. You are in a completely different category. You are an EU citizen and she is a family member of an EU citizen. She can apply for family reunion based on the fact that she is married to you. You can sort it directly in SEF in Portugal (assuming she is a Canadian citizen) but make sure you arrange all the documents you need from Canada and in Portugal.
