I recomend visiting Alanya, Turkey. It is the most beautiful and popular city for tourists in Turkey. I have been there many times

Beautiful video and a Beautiful place to retire, but I will not recommend anyone to retire in Turkey because the government we have over 20 years it’s worst government in the history of Turkey so don’t waste your money in Turkey because it’s everything is a scam between Restaurants, Coffee Shops Hotels, Airlines it’s disgusting. That’s the reason I retire in Miami. I’m paying much more than some other countries, but at least I’m happy and safe.!! Btw I’m Turkish

To avoid "last year menu" scam, not only ask to confirm that the menu is current but also take a picture of it. Some restaurants give you one menu to order off of but bring a different, higher priced menu with your bill.
@Tusrista3 ай бұрын
I find this solution by Dan puzzling because nobody would even think the menu given by staff would not be current, that's a big time scam (best advice from Dan read reviews before). There should be something like the better business bureau to protect the consumer, if not they will eventually be shut down by word of mouth (poor reviews).

Yes, reviews are great because they reward the good guys and punish the bad.

problem with turkey is they tax global income. that is a show stopper for many retirees.
@VagabondAwake3 ай бұрын
Hi @paulhefner2813, I don't maintain data on tax rule changes. It is often wrong the day after you learn it. But I can tell you that there is a good chance that an accountant specializing in international tax matters would know how to set up an entity in a tax haven that would reduce taxes in whatever separate country you decide to live or retire. If I had more money I would do that research and share it on my channel. Because that would be more useful permanent information possibly than a general statement without understanding the legal loopholes that are in every country. If you learn about anyone tax professional that has that information, please let me know. I would like to interview them on my channel. Sorry about that, Dan

I need summer place somewhere in Philippines. Where so you recommend? Not in the city. Little distance from city life.

It seems like you must get ready to enter the battle ground for eating foods in the restaurant in the Bodrum. Good to know NOT for me…

That's very nice how you call it predatory behavior I just call them a bunch of rip-off artists places like this I don't even stop by I don't even bother going to them because if that's how you're being treated at the restaurant and when you go get a phone card why would any human being with a normal right mind want to be part of something like that

As a Greek American, where two of my Greek grandparents were born and forcibly removed from their homes after WWI and lost all their property to the Turkish govt. And where the Turks killed a million Greeks and many more Armenians, there's no way I would retire in Turkey.

The Greco-Turkish War started after the Greeks burned İzmir/Smyrna Turkey. Greek forces provoked war by invading the city of İzmir/Smyrna on May 15, 1919. The Greek Cypriots claim that the Cyprus problem was caused by the landing of Turkish troops in 1974 and that if only they would withdraw, the problem would be solved. This is a serious misconception, for the modern Cyprus question began in 1960 and the landing of Turkish troops was the consequence, not the cause, of the problem. "Bloody Christmas" massacre by Greek Cypriots and nearly 30.000 Turkish Cypriots who were forced out from their homes became refugees.

I’m half Armenian. My paternal grandparents were survivors of the Armenian genocide. Nevertheless , I don’t blame modern Turks and I’d have no problem visiting or retiring in Türkiye.

I am Turkish. My ancestors were forcibly removed from Greece (Salonica) and Macedonia (Scopje) and their properties were confiscated by Greek and Serbian govenments after the balkan wars and ww1. I dont hold a century old grudge against greek and serbian people.

Thanks for the "red flags" I also heard about from Turkish people from other regions. It would be helpful if such cities/sites were deserted by tourits. Quite funny that this kind of behaviour is strictly banned in Islam...

If you read the Google comments you will avoid the bad behavior. A few bad eggs shouldn't spoil it for everyone. :-)
