If you have annual Fixed costs, and Weekly sales, you need to either convert the fixed costs to weekly (ie 158K/52) or convert the weekly sales to annual (ie *52.) I guess it depends what your question is asking for, is it BE sales per week, or per year? If it doesn't specify, I'd just do both!

Your S is good = 462,750 Your V is not correct, Remember BE Units are 360, 150, 90 and Cost per unit is, 425, 650 and 825. When you multiply those through your Variable cost is 324,750. That makes the B/E work out. Re do your variable costs and you will get there! Good question :)

Thank you so much for this video. I am attempting to do this for a commercial dental lab and I was struggling. I do have one question though... I am not sure about time frames. My annual Fixed costs are 158,000 but when i calculated the sales mix... I used sales on a weekly basis so 3 dentures, 3 immediate dentures etc.. per week. Should I recalculate this as sales per year? Also, is the BE Units calculated for a week or for the year? I am sort of confused!! :/

Tony can you help me answer this question: Why the Break even model doesn't hold up in the real world?
@Tony-Bell10 жыл бұрын
There are some basic assumptions that might not be true in the real world. Check my video called "Cost Analysis Part 1" as it covers these assumptions.
