Hey Mr Barlow ... best way to do a 3 ball stableford comp is "Split 6". 6 points available of each hole ... split between 3 players. Outright win ... 4pts, 2-way tie for win ... 3pts each, 3-way tie for win ... 2pts each. Outright 2nd ... 2pts, 2-way tie for 2nd ... 1pt each.

Mr. Barlow certainly allowed to clean that plugged ball once it is lifted. Any time you are entitled to free relief the ball may be cleaned. If it was determined that free relief is NOT entitled (the ball was not actually plugged, etc.), the ball may NOT be cleaned.

Golf Mates - plugged ball - don't roll it! Drop it from knee height within one driver length of the plug mark (no nearer the hole) and clean it first if you want to. The rules are there to help. Mr. Barlow gets a one shot penalty for incorrectly taking relief but played from within the correct area (otherwise two shots).
