Costa Cruises - LOOK AT THIS PORT - WOW!!... Costa Diadema - Vlog 2: Exploring Savona, Italy!

Following from episode 1 where I embarked the ship in Barcelona (Spain), we've now docked in Savona (Italy). This port's an interesting one, as it's where Costa Cruises have chosen to have their Head Office.
I couldn't believe just how central we docked in this city - you can almost touch the apartments on the other side of the marina from the top deck of the cruise ships!
In this video, I'll show you what it's like to arrive into Savona in the morning, enjoy breakfast onboard Costa Diadema, explore the city of Savona, and then enjoy some of the nightlife back onboard the ship.
Over this cruise (which was 2 weeks long), we’ll be exploring parts of Italy, France and Spain together, in addition to then sailing past Gibraltar and heading out to the Canary Islands and also Madeira, part of Portugal! This one promises to be a lot of fun, so let’s get started!

Ha, you’ve made me laugh with this one - no numbers stuck to me 😂 Savona was really lovely - I was so surprised - much more ‘Italian’ than the likes of Genoa!

Savona reminds me of Cagliari, Valetta and Cadiz, where you can step off the ship virtually into the heart of the city. Or, indeed, Liverpool!

Of my dozen or more cruises with COASTA the oggi abordo Was always supplied in English as ON BOARD INFORMATION daily to your cabin It's most important information was ships time for Boarding and Sailing

What day and date was the Market? I got some amazing stuff in Trieste market right next to ship, but they only meet last Sunday of each month.

First off an excellent VLOG honest and refreshing Only let down by COSTA themselves,, times gone bye the main restaruant offered a seven cours e meal, The main dining room served silver service Breakfast, Lunch then Main evening meal they (COSTA) Have reduced this by 60% They used to have the standard CRUISE MIDNIGHT BUFFET that has gone The shows are good but they used to be first class acts brought onboard from ashore, who sailed with you put on the show and were then swapped at the next port for another act from the area you were in that has gone, they put on a show with their own staff (Good but not what it used to be) Next Burgers/Hotdogs/Pizza were free at the buffet along with tea and coffee now Buy it yourself They had for a cost a 4D cinema experience, an F1 race simulator, CABINS/STATE ROOMS were serviced at least twice a day including fold down service Having said that I preferred COSTA to other lines, the ships are beautiful as are the crew, I would prefer to pay more for the old service (for which I had to save up for) though I could not afford the specialist private passengers exclusive sections

This is such an interesting comment - thanks for watching, and taking the time to write this! I’ve never cruise with Costa before this ship, so I can’t compare to before. However, I did meet a lot of people who spoke about the experience being ‘less’ now than it was before, with lots more onboard purchases available for things that used to be included, so you’re not along there!

Why did you change rooms?

Good question - I should've covered this in the video! One of the reception team came and offered me a room on a higher floor a few hours after checking in, and explained that the deck 2 balconies could be quite noisy. The main atrium (with lots of the parties) is on deck 3, so I was relieved!!
