Do you know if the clear portion of the frame turns yellow over time ? I just bought a pair and are using them for my job in construction and worry they’ll turn yellow and brown

Thanks for the review. Costa is by far my favorite brand because not many others offer the glass lenses I prefer. Lost a pair the other day and was looking into the gradient lenses. I think I’ll stick with the dark grey for my application as I’m worried the gradient would be too bright for me.

Good call! I would stick with cat 3 grey or blue lenses for most activities as well. Glad you can appreciate Costas's quality!

Looks great. Do they have barrel or spring hinges? Can't seem to find the answer to that.

Hey! That is a great question. I am not sure if I know what either of those terms are yet. Can you teach us what each of those are? I would love to learn and hopefully can then let you know which one they are. Thanks!

@@Engearment Sure, spring hinges are the kind of hinges that allow the temples (arms) to flex outward slighty. With barrel hinges the temples just stop straight at about 90 degrees. The Rincons and Rinconcitos have spring hinges if you have a pair of those to see what I mean. Thanks!

@@joaks14 Thank you VERY much for explaining that. I just went and tried both pairs of the Paunch XL shades, and neither one wants to bend past 90 degrees. I do recall the Ferg XL did go past 90 though. Thanks for teaching us something new! Take care :)

Who else is here because they broke another pair? 2 down so far. Both sets I broke were results of my 250 slamming hard on them though.

LOL. Man, I have slammed my 4Runner truck on so many Costas. Only one frame broke, and it was the Ferg XL. Loved those shades. I still use them for hiking. They are just slightly crooked on my head LOL. I just slammed my trunk door on these last weekend while camping. Thankfully nothing happened! Tuff shades.

Nice review as always Sean, though i've never been a fan of gradient lenses. Not really my cup of tea. Currently i am torn between some cool navigator shades from some high-end brands (Oliver Peoples and Masunaga). Yes i know, OP is owned by Luxottica these days but the quality is still top-notch, especially the all-glass lenses with VFX polarized tech. Wish you would do a review of some of these premium sunnies some time soon, that'd be awesome ;-)
