Costa Del Mar was owned by Essilor since 2013. When Essilor and Luxottica became EssilorLuxottica in 2018, the Costa Del Mar brand was placed under the control of the Luxottica division. So they moved production of the frames from USA to mostly China. Some styles are still made in Luxottica Foothill Ranch factory. It would’t make sense if Costa sunglasses would be the only brand made in its own factory. Unfortunately the employees of the Costa factory were fired and the factory was closed.
