My family and I went to Guanacaste CR and feel in love!! Went zip lining at Diamanté Eco Adventure park (highly recommend it) it was literally behind our hotel and we also did about 3 hanging bridges hiking and a sloth encounter. It was priceless!! PURA VIDA 🤘🏼

Love this trip for you!! I’ll be in CR in 2 weeks! Flight availability screwed up my plans as I wanted to fly into San Jose stay for a day then head to límon. But I’m flying into LIR - still intend to go to Puerto Viejo but obviously I have to break it up because it’s a long drive. Do you recommend going to La Fortuna over Monte Verde for a day or 2 then do the long drive?

Are you happy you did the waterfall first and then Mistico or would you do Mistico first and then the waterfall if you could?

I’m so happy I did the waterfall first !! I recommend getting to the waterfall as early as possible to avoid the crowds and enjoy it at its most peaceful state. Such an amazing way to start the day. BUT I will say that I recommend getting to Mistico earlier in the day because it does get hot in the afternoon. In a perfect world I’d do waterfall as soon as they open (7-7:30am) and do Mistico at like 10-11am

@@NeissTravelswe are going in 5 weeks. We are doing mistico one day and LA fortuna waterfall the next day. I could imagine doing both on the same day would exhaust the average person. Plus the heat and humidity. I really enjoyed your review. Thank you

I’ll be going August 11. Was the hanging bridge scary? How many did you have to cross?

Nice! Have so much fun! Hanging bridges wasn’t scary to me, but it can be for others especially if you are afraid of heights. There are 21 bridges, 6 of them are hanging bridges meaning 6 of them are a little wobbly. Super fun for me though!

do you think a regular car rental is fine or do we definitely need a 4X4?

We stayed in The Dome for part of our trip which was located on dirt roads/in the forest so the 4x4 was helpful for that specific stay. Other than that a regular car would have been just fine! If you plan to stay on main roads, a 4x4 isn’t necessary.

We went end of April. Rainy season starts in May. We experienced some on & off rain in La Fortuna but nothing too crazy. Would recommend going during this time!
