How was the drive to San Jose to Monteverde and Monteverde to La Fortuna? I am doing the same drives in a couple of weeks and I'm nervous!

As long as you have 4 wheel drive, make sure to drive while the sun is out, and take your time around the curves, it’s a smooth ride! Just keep in mind it gets dark very early, around 5pm and there are no lights, especially in the mountains. The hardest part for us was driving through the mountains in Monteverde in the dark. We didn’t realize how early the sun went down lol! but once you’re out of the mountain tops it’s not too bad and the rest of the drives are beautiful and very scenic, I enjoyed it. Also people walking on the side of the rode even on busy highways, but you’ll see it’s pretty common!

@@katherinefelix7677 actually yes! But we are under 25 so that was the main issue. The rental car company listed a really cheap price online (like $80USD) and promised no hidden fees, but when we got there they told us we needed all this insurance that we legally HAVE to have, which costed us almost $400! Even if you’re over 25, I’d just call your rental company a few times to make sure the price you’re seeing is what you’ll be paying.
