the blue shirt, cross arm guy just stood around and did nothing! Super funny to just watch him moving around with the same pose

Took me 12 hours with helpers for installing panels. We also wired it for electric outlets on all 4 poles and junction boxes on the top of all 4 poles for lighting and ceiling fan later. Read directions all the way through before you start and read them again step by step as you go.

Did you run conduit outside or cable inside the posts?

@@adelreal459 wire ran inside posts.

hows it holding up 3 years later?

It took about 20 man hours and yes we put 3 of the horizontal beams in upside down the first time. Need to follow the book closely.

Is the gazebo hot during the summer due to the aluminum roof?
@19dr716 жыл бұрын
do you think plywood and shingles could be used instead of the provided metal sheets ?
@TOBINJ556 жыл бұрын
Yes but I think you would need to use some kind of plywood instead of the metal to put the shingles on. The metal roof is nice.
@19dr716 жыл бұрын
thank you !
@xnavyeod886 жыл бұрын
Yah you could easily replace the metal roof with plywood then shingle the roof
@xnavyeod886 жыл бұрын
Of sure if the small bolts would hold the weight of a grown man putting a seem of shingles in the joints of the roof as you would have to get on the roof to finish shingling

did you guys put one of the horizontal beams up side down initially? Is that why you took it back down and then put it up again?

FYI the Yardistry gazebo is considered by building departments to be a 'structure' and is subject to their review. Yardistry REFUSES to provide structural calculations or a third party certification of the structural integrity of the gazebo (so is it safe in the first place??). To send their drawings to an engineer will double the price to install! If I had it to do over, I would just have a contractor just build a custom gazebo....

Richard Rengel and pay $6,000.00 plus the bs dealing with contractors. If your not happy just build it up 💪 stronger but that’s good info
@richardrengel21935 жыл бұрын
couple of points, though---- if it's not structurally safe (and you don't know that it is because there is no certification and they won't supply calcs) you sacrifice safety. Also, strengthening it will require more $$$ and they way it's designed it is difficult to strengthen. Lastly, if your neighbor rats on you and building department red-tags the structure, you are looking at scrapping it or paying someone to fix it.

You do not need a permit as long as it's less then 200sf. This is only 168sf. And less then 12 feet high. Whice this is 10'10 feet. This is in Vancouver wa

Looks like 2 days , 2 guys first day 4 second day. I'm in the middle right now doing one alone, so I'm putting the metal on after. I got posts, beams, corbels, and frame of roof up in 10 hours. Tomorrow metal roof, put in all missing screws, get everything tightened up. Although, I'm a professional carpenter.
@dfiore9166 жыл бұрын
Kent Simpson Did you encounter any problems putting the metal on last Kent? I think that's a pretty good idea. I'm definitely no carpenter but I might go that route.
@RR-qk9zu6 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't. I built mine by myself to the roof stage. Having three people help put the roof on this aft. Getting the roof metal on after installation would not be possible as you wouldn't be able to get all the trim pieces installed correctly. Once you put the metal on the roof sections you will see what I mean.

Used a pole to prop up one triangle and was able to put the roof together in about 45 min. Took longer to peel off the plastic wrap.

We did the same gazebo complete build in 10 hours, 2 guys 4 hours and 40 mins to build trusses and build the collers and set them with the posts and 4 guys for the rest... I don't get how it took them so damn long.

20 man hours? I saw 3 people total on that build. So if it took 3 individuals 20 hours that would be 60 man hours?

No. 3 people working for about 7 hours is 20 man hours. or 2 people working for 10 hours.

But it shows how the average homeowner would fare. Most people who buy these aren’t master carpenters. Having said that, if I bought one I would hire a master carpenter to do it! Might be a faster job
