Good information. They actually used to sell these years ago in a pack that was half yellow and half blue towels. With the number of people that use these for detailing I don’t understand why they don’t just drop the tag from them. It’s really a missed opportunity for sales for them as it can limit the uses. I hate removing the huge tags as it damages the towel most times.

Personally I would only use these for satin/matte wheels, non gloss interior surfaces or glass. I wouldn't use these towels on my freshly corrected paint. Higher quality towels seem to also hold up much better after repeated washing.

Do you only use new towels for rinse-less wash to avoid swirl marks? 17:05 How many towels do you use per wash? I'm thinking of using these till I get a detail sponge. Thanks.

To be extra safe it’s best to use one towel per panel. And yes it’s best to use new towels for your paint, or maybe dedicated them for a couple washes before they start getting crusty. It’s best to get a sponge for Rinseless washes though.

Can the kirkland ones be used to dry a whole car without streaks?

You can but realistically you need multiple of these towels to dry a whole vehicle so I suggest for drying your vehicle it’s best to invest in a dedicated drying towel as they can absorb more water due to the higher Gsm and size.

gsm is grams per square meter? could the microfiber towel be weighed in grams and with a little maths calculate a gsm measure? a 10x 10 cm piece (or 20x20) would make for easier mental maths. Don’t include the factory edge in the weight it would corrupt the calculations.
